Fraps should give you a good idea on fps, but remember that it also lowers your dps a bit while its active.

When you do above thing, you will realise graphic adapters does not mean squat either. It is all about memory, cpu and HDD speed.

Basically I played EQ2 since 2004, but i'm very picky about performance and expected a certain level of visual quality and FPS from EQ2....so now i'm back with a vengeance and the above setup BETTER run smooth at high quality

To see your FPS displayed I would suggest http://www.fraps.com/ runs a nice overlay and does video screen captures to boot.

Get 2 more gigs of RAM, especially considering how cheap it's become.

I might put Vista 64 or XP 64 on another partition, but i'm not ready to use 64 bit (not enough drivers around and a _lot_ of apps don't like 64 bit os). I think 2 GB is enough for EQ2....the GFX has more than enough ram to cover 768mb....and last time i checked EQ2 wasn't using up anywhere close to even 1.5 GB ram.
