I would personally like to see the pvp level ranges in zones lowered. The chances of beating someone 10 levels higher are slim to none - change the ranges and pvp automatically becomes a bit more balanced in most areas.

What do you reckon folks?

I dontmind the 8 lvl range in TS/Nek either, even though, 8 lvls in that tier is far more than 10 lvls in t6.

I'd like 'em opened wider. Especially in Antonica. 4 levels, what a joke.

It used to be 8 levels in t2 zones. It doesnt need to be lower.

They don't need to be lower. I thought 8 in T2 was fine, but that was changed. As you level there should be more risk as you venture out into the world, so the ten lvl range is ok imo.

god the last reduction in pvp lvls was bad enough, I certainly hope they don't do anything like it again. However, if SOE was to reduce the lvls again I would certainly hope that they also make one of the servers ffa, so that the refuges from the lvl nerfing have some place to go.

A 70 farming level 60+ isn't enough, I need to farm them all!

Making SS and PoF open levels would maked 45-60 near impossible. You'd take away more than 100 quests you can do at those levels in those two zones, and make the two best T6 harvesting spots untouchable by people who NEED them.
Myself and a lot of older PvP'ers already had to deal with open PvP range in places like SS.

We got all our quests done, why can't you?

The point was back then, not many people farmed the grey because they didn't give tokens or infamy, just faction and a decent grp of 40's can wipe a 70 with ease depending on class configurations, gear and skill.

Demron, when did you start this game?

Seriously the best pvp to be had was in sinking sands when it was a full open level limit range. I levelled 2 characters to 70 through those times, when EoF didn't exist and there wasn't another zone like LFAY to go level in. did I get griefed? I don't think greys lose any fame at all to reds unless they fight back. About Sinking Sands being an open PvP zone: We used to joke about it and call it "the trial of fire" for PvP'ers. If you managed to get through it, then you were concidered "worthy" enough to become a part of the tier 7 community, hehe. Back then there was XP debt too, and I always had TONS of it. But honestly, it was one of the must fun times I've ever had in this game, and I'm glad I rolled a PvP toon early enough to not miss out on it. Red cons were scary as hell to us lowbies then, as they should be. Level locking was out of the question, all we wanted was to level up as fast as possible so we could go and kick their butts! But then they changed it all with EoF.... and when I leveled my second toon, SS had become this dull place with no sense of danger at all....

Maliak

I'm not the one getting ganked by greys and whining about it. I don't need the zone opened up so I can kill greys and feel good about myself. I don't need the zone to be unlimited PvP to control it. I'm sure if I was on Naggy I'd have three times the kills I have. Instead I cringe and go harvest for rares and blinkies watching my plat amount go up, and up, and up wishing there were more fights.
Back on topic.

The PvP levels are fine how they are on the current servers. They don't need to be lowered, or highered.

Soon a level 80 is going to have Loping Plains, Kingdom of Sky, Kaladim, et cetera that is unlimited player versus player to fight greys in if they so desire. If you want an open PvP server, a different ruleset, fine, but there is a thread about it, and I would join you in that ruleset. But the current ruleset works for a lot of different players, for various reasons. Some change is good, but repeated change is bad.

There is already problems with new players being able to handle those zones. That would only compound that problem when 18s can kill 10s.

Maybe on a new ruleset, but currently, no.

Actually, with the way it's been in Antonica lately, the 8 level difference would work out nicely. The same guys would be reaping the tokens, and I'm sure more would be there, but the higher level defenders could actually do something. The OOC healing on the gate-campers is a bit much. And I'm sure it's just as bad in CL. 10's are going to get whacked in 2 shots by a 14 just as soundly as by an 18. But the 18 is going to have to face a 26, potentially.

This is why they need "different" rulesets, not the same ruleset for every PvP server. And roleplay isn't a PvP ruleset.

Some people like a sporting chance. What is a sporting chance? Like all sports you have different levels of competition. Freshman don't play with Varsity for a reason, and levels within the game duplicate this in some ways. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a sporting chance. But others like to feel the pain, and dish the pain therefore they ask for more open PvP rulesets. These are the people who can spend a lot of time playing, they know they have the time advantage needed to suceed in a PvP atmosphere, which is ok, but opens up a much different element.

If I were to propose anything to SoE, it would be to open up another server transfer "off" of Venekor, completely whiping the Venekor database to make a new, free for all type of server. One that takes all player feedback to shape.

But I don't like change, especially constant changes so leave the old rulesets alone.
