I've started playing with 3D design this week and here's my first attempt at a human warrior, outside in the sand: http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/...allpaperoa8.jpg Let me know what you think.

Nice one.

Anatomically correct. Guess that the important thing with 3D malarky eh. It spot-on looks like what ya said it is, so it works.

Could always play with the surfaces a bit. Is that textures or something in 3D design terms? Anyway, I mean, could add a hint of red to the skin to the joints (knees, knuckles). A green polearm stand out a bit. And the shorts being the glossiest part makes them stand out too. Though perhaps that kind of weathering is something 3D peeps do after the surfaces are all nice anyway, I wouldn't know. Looks good to me.

Yep not too shabby at all I'm sure you'll improve as you go along. I cheat with my 3d design doing vehicles and such and they're soooo much easier then people and creatures . Keep up the good work.

Finished scene: http://elfguy.googlepages.com/dend1...lpaper-full.jpg And here's another one with a green monster: http://elfguy.googlepages.com/denda...dbeast-full.jpg I'm still pretty new to this, but I've used the following programs to make these: Bryce, Poser, Sketchup, Paint.NET The characters are fairly easy to create from base skeletons in Poser. All the props like the sword, shield and tower I made in Sketchup and imported them. The environment is done in Bryce, and the textures I use some stock ones and some I create from real pictures in Paint.
