OK... This has been bothering me for some time... I have /petitioned it only to receive a response saying that it is pretty much working as intended. I tried to further explain the situation, only to be told the same thing...

This is a problem.

Our God Pets and our AA Line pets give us additional Buffs. I tend to have them out constantly.

They should NOT be attackable, they cannot attack, they cannot do anything but follow along behind you. If they remain attackable like they are, they should put the attacker into combat with you. Currently as they are, they do not.

Here is the situation...I can run around and be out of level range to attack this little gray that decides he is going to come run up to me and attack my passive buff pet.....currently, all I can do is stand there and watch him do it!! I cannot hit him or do anything but look at him. If I put the pet back out, he comes back and kills it yet again.

This NEEDS to be fixed...if he has the balls to attack my innocent little drake or book or imp or whatever it is.....he has the balls to get smacked down by me for harming my little friend!!

lol. Yea that sounds horribly bugged to me. Someone that can attack your pet should deffinately flag as being attackable by you. That's about half [Removed for Content].

Please hide your pets for God's sake... think about people with weaker PCs... or let us deal with lags by killing your useless pets!

Hmmmm.... see your pet and lose it, not to mention give away your location and your group if stealthed, all for a "flavor" aspect, or ......

hide the pet, remove the possibility of it being killed and you shortly after, and prevent people from following it like a trail of breadcrumbs right to you and your group. Tough choice there.

You DO realize that you cannot hide your AA pets.....

Either way...I enjoy my pets, it is my choice to display my god pets or not....it is not my choice to hide or not hide my AA pets....the fact of the matter is, that they should not be attackable, and if they remain attackable, I should be able to attack those that attack them.

Please don't turn this into a debate about hiding god pets. Seriously, that is not the point of my post.

Not trying to debate it. I just thought this was about the deity pets. I hide mine. And when in a group I ask that everybody else do the same. Why "smuggle" the group when somebody's pet is rolling along after them? Kind of gives away the element of surprise.

Sorry about ignoring the part about the AP pets.

It DOES put someone into combat. It's just...The pet dies so fast, you have an extremely tiny window to attack.

I think it's a good thing, myself. It's a taunt that a low level can do to a high level. *shrugs* Back when I was locked at 20 I would get griefed by people who outlevelled using all kinds of stupid things. So I just responded by killing their god pets.

I think it's lame of people to want to be able to farm solo grays attacking their pets. Go kill soloers that actually pose a threat/challenge and stop complaining about having your pets killed, imo.

Again, I repeat...you CAN attack whoever is attacking your pet. You just need to be quick about it. You have an extremely tiny window. This window is bigger on AA pets. So...learn to keep an eye on what people around you are doing.

There is plenty of taunting greys do to higher levels. There have been many long paged threads about grey groups and solos. Nobody is going to attack a god pet if they can't kill it immediately. That is not a very good example. I feel that if someone comes up and kills my mummy, I should be able to kill them for harassing what my deity gave to me. Tunare might not care, but Innoruuk would.....

Nobody wants to kill a grey guys pet and put them in combat. We want to kill a grey that has the balls to attack something of ours. There should be a penalty for attacking the pet of a red con, and that penalty should be putting you in combat.

*edit* not for the duration of the pets life, but rather the full time of engaging the PC.

If you have a tank with you, and the annoying little coward keeps doing it, get the tank to throw intercept on the pet and the little fool will hit the tank not you pet and you can kill him. Have done it many a time and the no skill lockers get a taste of their own medicine They stop pretty fast when their exploit is taken away.

It is no different than dispelling a buff spell. if dispell magic puts you in engages you in pvp, then stripping a buff by killing the manifistation of that buff should do the same and not drop once the pet is gone. Sure you are in combat, but you are not "engaged". big difference.

It happens with all pets. My dog is a 10 second recast after it dies, a second cast to get him back up. used to have to cast the buffs seperately, but that has been fixed. I don't have it happen to often, but the last time a grey killed my dog a few times i put a group ward on him after summoning and the grey didn't see it. the next time he attacked dog, he couldn't one shot it and then he ran. It would be nice for a fix to this though.

the thing is it DOES put you in combat jsut like if you were grouped an di attacked a group member of yours

but in the same manner if i attack a group member of yours and kill him w/o ever attack you or healing damage from you then when they die i will be out of combat

same for the little pets there like part of your group but once i kill it ( usualy in one hit) im back out of combat again
