Is there anyone who can convince me to stay with this guy? I like the class *generally* and I'm not teeming with aa (26 so far, and I'm level 29), but it seems as though I'm getting my butt handed to me a lot more than I care to. Doesn't seem I can take down even a green healer, although I do reasonably well against mages and scouts...but give me a higher-con scout (yellow) and I just can't do enough dps to kill him. I'm all masters w/excellent weps and spec'd fully down the INT line to Eagle Shriek (beginning to think that is worthless imho).

Anyways, I tried the STR line and hated it, was thinking of going down and fully spec'ing WIS (keeping INT but reconsidering putting ANYTHING in Eagle Shriek).

I'm relatively new to the monk class, but I'm not a noob to pvp - just seems to be specifically this class I'm struggling to do well in (played just about every class out there, aside from the templar). Open to suggestions, but if this is the just the way it is with monk pvp, I'd need to seriously consider re-rolling. If I just need to be patient until I get fully spec'd in WIS or respec a different way I'm open to that too.

Suggestions?

However, if ya stick with it, you'll get a lot more abilities and shouldn't have aproblem with even soloing even con mobs of any type/class. Devistation Fist comes soon and it helps alot, and your heal spells get better too. Make sure when you are soloing that you use your feign death (fd) in time to have enough health remaining that if it fails you have time to recast it. Which doesn't take long. And ~ you'll get a group fd that you can instantly cast upon standing that usually works if regular fd doesn't. I have a 70 Swash I made first, and then made a Fae Monk when the expansion came out. Now I can barely force myself to play the Swashy or any of the other chars I have, ranging from 24 to 58. So, all in all, it's your call. But in my opinion the Monk is one of the funnest classes and the easiest I've played to solo with, when I do! Try to stick with it and see what you think! [size="x-small">

Hmm think hes talking PvP!.....i'm 33 monk with the maximum 49 AA (some spare) - Tier 3 i did struggle a bit with healers 1 vs 1 - yellow scouts though? I'm surprised you struggle here. My best tip is to have an extra hotbar full of Cure state potions and regeneration heal + hitpoint buff. Cure anything thats a big DoT and/or decreases mitigation.......

Healers several tactics based around interupts and fear - although tier 4 i find i have enough burst DPS to rip them down (crane flock FTW)

@ lvl 30 you get 2 very nice new abilities. Winter's Talon (dazes + damages) and Instil Doubt.....If you burn DPS and try to interupt with KDs you will badly damage a healer - often a quick kill if you get interupts right. BUT if you do burn through your CAs and have them all refreshing - use instil doubt, fear your enemy and give yourself 6secs breathing space to allow CAs to refresh, use potions etc. Instil doubt is most lethal in a dungeon/around agro......fear the freep into MoBs, ideally ^^^s

We absolutely own in dungeons BTW -----> attack a group, they think your nuts and start chasing you, sprint into multiple MoBs and Play Dead (M1 is 76%, lvl 28 - so this may require a couple of attempts and isn't a certainity). The MoBs then agro your cahsing attackers!! I do this Fallengate regularly

I have several other tricks i can chat to you about but don't want to reveal all my secrets....lets just say that of my last 20 fights against titled healers 1 vs 1 i've lost one fight (blue to orange con healers).

And yes, I'm talking about pvp - no problems whatsoever in pve.
monks are a good solid pvp class. this doesn't mean you'll be owning everyone at 70 tho. monk is not an easymode pvp class. we are upper middle class at pvp imo. unless you plan to keep an entire hotbar full of potions and another full of clicky's there are a few classes that you should just plan on losing to. pretty much every healer class at 70, with comparable gear, will kill you. SK's will kill you. even w/o ht. swash are terribly difficult. brigs are too. rangers can be tough if you can't see them right away. once again, i'm referring to ppl with similar gear as yours. if you find someone with crappy gear of any class you can own them. imo pvp is 40% class, 40% gear, and 20% skill. aa setup will be a huge factor in your pvp ability. i recommend getting your cures. i'm tank spec'd which makes my pvp weaker, but if i were to spec for burst dps (wis line) it would help. that's all i have.
