I'm not sure how it is on some of the other servers but on Splitpaw, one area stands out in particular, but I am sure there are others, is always hotly contested. the caves beneath the Eye of Anuk in Sinking Sands. 9/10 when you get there its bean cleared and then while you wait for the pops a group appears and takes the mobs. These are not farmers either they are from legitimate guilds, I would ask for an invite but most the time its all over before I realise whats happened as the area is tiny, its one room!

As some of the level 50 writs require you to harvest/mob kill there its a popular area, would it not be possible for an earhquake or something to happen to add maybe a few more caverns for the quest mobs and ground spawns?

The same could go for any other areas people can think of.

I must say, i never did that writs ever, if i did writs at that level i took the Dervishs or the Sandscrawlers, but mostly i now wait until level 60 before i grind some status, because 60-64 is the CT-Heaven with the Droag-Tasks

Yes I will agree on that, getting in a good group for TT and grinding Scaleborne Sentries is always great for uber guild status. I still think either the respawn timers or general hotly contested areas could be expanded, once at 60 going forward, great, but up till then a lot of the better writ mobs are hard to get because of competition.

Lavastorm docks area and wyrms springs to mind now.

Lavastorm .. always reminds me at T5 times, when all the world were doing the goblin CTs there. And how it got even worse when they changed them from 2 to 4 different types of goblins because at that time it was such a bad thing that you could do 2 tasks for the same critters
