As the title says I wish to know wat the more experienced players can do with their wizards, what casting order do they use and in detail and also what AA lines did they spec and for what reason.

To make it simple I will break it down for you into sub categories.

1. What is the highest lvl named you have solo'd and what lvl were you at the time?

2. What AA are do you spec for soloing named monsters/ farming named?

3. I have a lvl 26 wizard, 18AA and lvl 31 jeweller. I could have locked and done better with AA should I lock now and make up for the lost AA or reroll and do it properly?

4. What is your casting or and why have you chosen that casting order? Does it work better than XX casting order from your experience?

5. Spells, gear and order of importance for a wizard?

5a. Should I buy Master I's and fabled for my next tier or just wait until I get to 60's to gear up properly?

5b. What Heritage Quests do you recommend for nice wizard gear? By crook or by.... ; Saving Soles ; Crown of trannix etc?

5c. What is the master I that I should save up for and have sitting in the bank? Ice Comet? etc... What places can these be found if money is a problem?

6. Do you think a nice horse would help me survive fights that I need to run from? What horse is best for Wizards who want to solo named or doesn't it matter?

Lastly I want to say that I have been readin through past posts and I have been eagerly researching the wizard class as I am enjoying it very much. I have a guardian who I spent alot of time on and he is lvl 24 with 27AA and I found every master I for him up to lvl 30 through farming named and all his gear and jewellery were made by me from harvests I found which makes him so much more enjoyable to play. I say this because I rushed my wizard and regret it knowing that I could have gone slower with the AA, but having said that I know it is early days at lvl 26 and I can still catch up.

I was lvl 25 and I have still got tier 1 gear on in most slots some slots are empty still, so basic trash, all app 1 spells and my trusty master II fireball. I managed to take out a lvl 23^^^ named and I cannot do this on my guardian who is in the best gear for the tier with 2 times the health. This alone blew my mind, what have I been thinking all this time, if this is just with crap gear and app 1 spells, I must be on the tip of an incredibly fun class.

I hope I get some nice responses from the lvl 70 wizards that are about and active, thankyou for reading.

The reason not to mention "farming" like this on the boards as this is the way AA, Spells, and classes get NERFED. Because a few players abuse the squish room in a class and usually end up being used by the gold farmers that spam all of us all the time. For awhile there while poison procs were broken Rangers were king of DPS, then Conjurers were sneaking ahead, etc. each was successively NERFED.

I can't solo named easily but I duo them quite well. Exteremly well. I can solo most named, but why would I go through all that effort of mulitple deaths when I can just /tell xxxx "hey can you help me complete this quest..." If you want soloing advice for named your own teir one of the other posters may have the experience you're looking for. Keeping this in mind here's my response.

If you mentor, everything is easier since you have spells you don't have if you weren't mentoring and they hit for damage you wouldn't have at that lvl. (something goofy with the mentoring here) No level 10 wizard can hit any spell on a lvl 13 deer for 2500 damage, but my 70(10) mentoring wizard did with Ice Nova! Don't reroll, instead peg out to 70 doing as much as you can on the way and mentor like crazy in each lower teir and complete the quests you didn't do then after you are 70 for AA.

Also, if you are truly soloing (ie not 2-boxing) keeping them at a distance is a must, unless you're mentoring which means you're not soloing! Crowded areas with wandering mobs make it hard to take out something that you have some "root and step back" room if you take to that strategy. Another strategy is the [FH + Ice Nova] followed by a Manaburn which seems to be popular. Keep in mind that most of the names you will want at end game will be in instances/zones that require groups/raids. Names in outside areas vulnerable to your uberness won't really have much value to you other than quest completion for AA. This is not true for mentoring situations which by definition means you have access to another account or have a friend to play with you, thus you wouldn't be soloing. Lower teir names will be seen as either 1) gear for twinking an alt 2) more AA for you! All the high ticket items are group/raid T7 content so all the cash us up top locked away in those areas.

If you want to 1 or 2 shot mobs, then spec max DPS AA as outlined in other posts. If you want to root and have some "mistake" room in case it gets close to you and you have to re-root then spec max defensive AA as outline in other posts. Both work well. SOW totem is cheap and effective, the quest carpet from DOF is pretty easily obtainable as well for movement bonus but invis will be your true friend to avoid fights. As far as escaping, evac + fast casting is going to be your new best friend.

This is a no nerf zone! You'll learn your own style for spell order as you level up. I don't want the people responsible for our ROK spell lines to nerf what we don't have yet based on how we use what we already got imagining how farmers could abuse ROK spells! Just ask around on your server/guild for spell order.

How good you are at improvising is just as important which comes with practice. You might die 2 or 3 times before you get the strategy/aggro radius/etc. for that one name you think you want. Do you root, slow, stun? Nuke? DOT? Pet no Pet? You'll get better as you level of reading when you need to do what. But wouldn't it be eaiser to ask in lvl chat "pst need XXX is up group forming" since this is an MMO afterall?
