Before the LU36 My average parse using the Torn Ligament Longbow was anywhere from 2k to 3k every encounter. Same as with our other Guild Ranger. We are a 24 man raid guild, so we are consistently in the same group builds etc, for buffs. Since the LU I have been lucky to parse a 2k, let alone get anywhere near my old DPS. I also noticed that when I now enter Ranged Combat my Attack rating goes from 1606, to 650. That doesnt make much sense when Im supposed to be hitting a 75^^^ epic x4 mob. I was missing what seemed every 3rd bow attack, with a 507 buffed Ranged skill out of 350. That is making little sense to me as thats the skill of a lvl 85 Character. The way I see it, is Im about as useful as a Brigands DPS with no dispatch now. And yes I have tried every combination of arrows, DT summoned, field points etc. This is to harsh of a hit on Rangers and something needs to be fixed asap. If they wanted to make things more "balanced" then why not BOOST other classes, instead of screwing with people who enjoys there class and making it less then desirable?

What ammo are you using? my dps has maybe droped 50 to 100 dps zone wide using DT ammo depending on the mobs lvl. im still on top of the parses since LU and dont see me droping any time soon.

I'm using the SWL and I have taken a bit of a hit in overall DPS, but nothing like you described. Something else must be the cause.

if you are using the high damage negative hit % arrows against high yellows you will miss a lot and reduce your DPS

Ive stated the ammo, and what I dont understand is how my Attack skill (Under the Stat tab of Personae) drops from 1606, to 650 when I go into ranged attack. And yes the hit is that big for me as before, the two rangers in our raid guild were on top, every parse, no matter the encounter, as we play our class right. My average zonewide was 2200, last night I was at 1600. My group setup never changed, nor did the people in the raid. Its not that the dps is what is [Removed for Content] me off. What is wrong with this situation is how many times a fully fabled out ranger is MISSING mobs. Anything that was regular con or lower I never missed but the minute we were up against lvl 74+ epics the nerf bat was obvious. Is it regular for my Attack skill to drop nearly 1k from entering ranged? I do not think so. That is a NERF in our skill if I have ever seen one. Yeah the damage rating on arrows changed, with % to miss etc, but the fieldpoints are %'s wise JUST as good as the DT arrows pre-nerf. So why am I missing so often? Melee attacks are landing with no problem which just doesnt make sense. I am not a melee class, nor should ever be considered one. My complaint is that instead of Sony helping other class's to be top tier DPS, they nerf my class to be randomly hitting a mob, when the fact is my stats in raid is way overcon'd to what a true lvl 70 should be. My group setup is a Dirge, Monk, Warden, Ranger, Ranger, Conjuror/other scout(Ember seed AoEs are nice, when you actually hit the mob.) And to say DPS is only hurting by maybe 100 per parse is insane. Sure isnt whats happening on my server, with two very good rangers having the same problem with missing to often. Also check next time you go into ranged attack and watch your Attack number drop to the floor. How are you supposed to hit a mob when your Attack skill when in ranged isnt even over 1k?

/sigh Guys read the first post fully. I am using DT summoned Viscid Gobs. And going betweeen that and the Fieldpoints which are something like 78 damage 30% hit bonus. Im not using other arrows as they are way less then par with even those two types. The other ranger in our raid guild is using the Umbral Darkness ones and Field Points also.

<p>I don't think attack rating means anything. I have seem some increased misses with autoattack on level 75's when using DT ammo, so I switch to field points. The damage is a bit less, but it really bumps the hit ratio back up.</p><p>I missed our last MMIS raid, so I can't compare to pre-GU36, but I'm down only slightly it seems.</p>

Why would they put an Attack rating in my STATS window if its not going to mean anything? Im pretty sure it does if it takes that big of a hit going into ranged.

My conclusion is that your Ranged skill will come into play more now. Went into MMIS last Saturday, myself and the other Ranger were in the same group so we had the same buffs. Attack rating was basically the same (I believe mine was slightly higher) but our Ranged skill is what differed. I was at 396 and he was at 404 and he had a higher auto attack hit percentage by 3%. We both were using DT ammo as well and I have a better bow then he does.

did you not ever notice your attack skill drop before? i have. the number you read before you go into combat is your melee attack skill, once you go into range attack it will drop to range attack skill, been like that from day one.

I just never use it because it seems to make no sense. Did you use it before GU36 and compare?

Before the update I didnt have a problem with missing a 50 foot mobs back. Now I do thus me now noticing the attack drop. Its just not right. Imagine those rangers who arent fabled out, who dont have some luxuries of other people. This must hit them EVEN more so and hurt worse. Like I said Im now a glorified brigand without Dispatch.

<p>I noticed attack rating droping waaaay off like over a year ago. It has a higher rating when you have d/w than with 1hd/shield, then it drops again when you go ranged attack. I never really paid much attention to it after that seeing it really didnt seem to affect anything.</p><p> I havent really noticed that big of a drop off in my zw dps, its went down some, but nothing like your seeing. If im in one of my normal groups I still do very well.</p><p>-Venez</p>

<p>What is your hit%? Look at ACT and see what % your auto-attack is hitting for now.</p>
