Thanks for posting these Guy. I will have to pay more attention to some of the armor

If only they had stats that made them worth keeping. o_O Then again I can't really say I like them that much. Awakened Chain looks very similar to the level 20 AQ items for Dirge (Dirges have a skirt). Most these don't appeal to me for one reason or another. Nothing really sets them apart from one another.

I've always liked the look of the Awakened Plate.

That screenie doesn't do the Stygian Chain justice, it is pretty eye catching in game. It is also my favorite.

Its the mail that gives me the Shine and clean look of the City Faction Luminous Vanguard. The faction chain is all pretty hidious compared to the Faction plate.

Stygian Chain is the same model they used for Tayil's armor. It shines even when I have specular turned off, and really pops when I turn it on.

I bought a set and wear it all the time in town, I love it. Specially since my work armor at this time is "Robin Redbreast" Xegonite chain . (did they not ever LOOK at that on a Female??)

I run with pretty high gamma, I hate dark games, and on my machine it is nearly silver.

My vote goes for the Quellithulian armour set. Looks amazing in green!

I never liked the soothfoot look really, and i still remember how everyone was wearing that stuff in the beginning when trying to kill Darathar

And i really hate that they made T6 Leather now look like sootfoot

The problem with the Stygian is (or at least was) that the BP is chain, but legs or shoulders were plate, i remember my Ranger wore the BP sometimes, but she couldn't equip any other parts of the set

Is the frozen Halasian on the picture Plate ? I remember my (meanwhile deleted ) Dirge had that set in long time ago, but chain looked like the normal ebon chain only in blue-metallic

Oooh, I love the awakened plate set. I'll have to check that out on the broker when the servers are back up!

I don't know what the name of it is now (because I think it changed during the tradeskill revamp) but my favorite was a low level leather armor set. It looked like it was patchwork. a bunch of similar colored pieces sewn together. All were a beighish kinda color oh and I loved the OLD Emerald Hide armor...even though it wasn't really emerald heh heh.

The Stygian is all chain but Scout only. The Halasian is plate I think. There are other suprising models out there for stuff that is really low quality. Theres an Archaic Bronze Mantle (or something similar) which has no stats but looks awesome - with a reddish metallic vanguard plate model.

Then there are other Fabled items that look exactly the same as standard tier 2 items. Its really strange, almost as if they rolled randomly on a table assigning models and textures as they come across them sometimes.

Although there are actually very few base models in the game, its interesting how many different ways you can retexture and recolour something to make something look new and cool to look at.

My current "bad fish" are the legendary plate sets for tanks that look simply atrocious. It doesnt even look like plate, more like a knitted jersey. Another "bad boy" is the Tunic of Shadowed Songs and Dwarven Ringmail Tunic which sport extremely sub-par low res textures at the moment.

They really need to rethink the armor and get back to a clear progression of level, quality, and appearance. Someone who has worked very hard for a fabled piece should have a piece that looks as good as its stats. You should be able to tell instantly if someone is wearing Treasured, Mastercraft, Legendary, or Fabled.

Another cool set is the Thexian Dragoon set. It looks like the Stygian Chain, except it's very dark gray, almost black. It's a lvl 17 set, useable by anyone who can wear chain. Seems to be rather rare however.

Thanks for posting these. While I do agree that there are some sets worth collecting at any time in the game, unfortunately, this is also a shining example of why they really need to work on adding more geometry models to the game. These textures are all on the same geometry. Hopefully, that will happen once this 'skeletal revamp' is completed.
