View Full Version : Instant pet reset when Charm breaks -- intentional?

Here's what happens now since LU#36: when charm breaks, or if you release the pet, if you are beyond the pet's "leash" in the zone, it no longer aggros but instead rushes back to its reset point exactly as if you'd run out of combat. You can no longer mez and recharm -- instead you get the message "Not an enemy". If however you are within the leash area, then the mob aggros as before and you can recharm. And even with AA points in charm and subjugation, charm breaks. Frequently. I for one hate this change. Charmed pets were already pretty limited in their uses: can't zone with them, charm breaks can be deadly, you can't always find a good pet in a zone, some pets cannot be charmed, etc. Still being able to find a caster pet and use it over an entire zone is extremely handy. Now, every single time charm breaks or you release, you lose the pet. Unless you happen to be in the pet's little leash area. This makes it quite a bit tougher to keep a good pet zonewide, and makes soloing more difficult than ever. We won't discuss the haste nerf to Chronosiphoning. On the plus side, a pet break is less likely to make headaches for a group, especially with heroic pets. But "when pets go bad" was one of the little quirks I really liked about playing a Corc. So is this change intentional, or is it a bug? It definitely wasn't in the patch notes. I've talked about it on global coercer chat, and it doesn't seem like any coercers are happy about this "fix." It would be great to hear from the devs -- is this an oversight or is the change here to stay? P.S. I realize there's another thread on this issue, but I figured a more detailed subject line and description of the problem might get answers quicker. Powernap Level 42 Coercer Antonia Bayle Server
