What weapon to choose

So now that we can use a 2 hander or 1hander + symbol. Whats everyone going to use. Ive got the wand of crystalized plasma and novem tectum or I also have staff of the silent star w/ 1% crit adornment. So which is better?

No 2h weapon in the game can beat the combo of a good 1h + symbol. Not to mention that with a 1h + symbol, you get the benefit of two 1% crit adornments. If the devs wanted to make a 2h weapon actually worthwhile, they would need to have one similar to the combined stats and effects from, for example, the wand of crystalized plasma and the necromantic orb (both easily obtainable items for any sorcerer).

There are good 2-handers that deserve consideration.  My wiz changed from the Godking prizzy to the Staff of the Silent Star which was a drop in Labs off of Uu. Stats are 18 Str 52 Sta 58 Int 200 Power 150 Health FT5. I will probably put Focus of the Magi adornment on it I have passed on better 2-handers in the past because of Freehand  but no more. Definitely stat better than the previous posters  but he does get some nice procs / adornment choices.

Well finished SoD and just logged in today and its ONE hander now. woohoo. +18sta +20wis +20int +100 heath +100 power +75 spell damage crushing damage 25-142 delay 2.5 seconds rating 67.0 I added +1% crit to it. Cant wait to see what fable ones look like. So i wonder is it better then plasma wand now. Plasma wand may be good for raids since doing more damage.

Nah, the Wand of Crystalized Plasma still is better than this for mages with it's higher INT and disruption bonus and proc. Yes, it is a level 70th item to this items 67th, but I do really think they should have made the Staff a true mage item and not a mixed mage/healer item with it's high wisdom stat. I understand that Wardens and Fury's would probably like this one as it gives them both high INT and WIS but we only have one option for a reward as mages and it should be specifically designed for us.  I also have to say that I wish they had kept the old graphic even with it being one handed.

Plasma Wand for you Sorcerors, unless you have access to EoF Contested loot. Fabled Soulfire is being debated as the weapon of choice for Summoners, baring EoF Contested loot.
