Currently im lvl 43 with 21 aa's and I have no idea where to put them. I tried to go down int line for the dot and the str line for leg bite but you can't have both and wasted my free respec. Any suggestions?

I would also like to hear from experienced defilers what is a good spec to solo. I'm new to the game and probably solo 60% of the time and group the remaining 40%.

I have tried both these setups: Agi: 4-4-8-8-2 (26) Int: 4-8-8 (20) plus 3 extra (+1 for dog) and Agi: 4-4-8-6-2 (24) Str: 4-4-7-8-2 (25) (+1 for dog) with an int around 400 - the general idea is to use a good 2hander and become a melee priest. A large amount of DPS is done via the staff but the choice is between Int and Str line. With intelligence line your spell DPS is greatly boosted - you get a powerfree decent DOT and you get a decent chance to crit any of your spells. However I also raid so I wanted to have a balance and went down the strength line to find that that combination ALSO benefits soloing a lot as well as the obvious huge benefit of the extra warding in a raid. You see - when soloing, the haste allows you to melee EVEN more which in turn then allows you to proc your ward even more. It means you damage more using your staff and your survive longer due to a constant proccing ward. Also you get a large amount of extra strength from the Str line. Both are viable but from what I have seen at lvl 70, I have tried killing triple up yellow heroics (e.g. gargoyles in loping planes outside the castle) and another test was the named lizard in the Breeding Grounds (green triple up heroic NAMED with a ton of health and very hard hitting). I came close with the Int line but was unable to complete each because I ran out of power while trying to balance damage with keeping wards up and ensuring the mob remained debuffed a second time. Howeber with Str line I was able to use the dog wards to give me a lot more room to move. You can say you take a DPS hit from not gaining as many spells crits and the extra DOT but you DO get some of that DPS back from the extra haste and strength from the Str line. While it is not as much, you get a constant ward and if you can stay up longer, you can prep the mob for its inevitable death easier. Defence vs offence.... So its a toss up I'd say - Agi/Int or Agi/Str - can try them both out and see how it works for you. If you are ever going to raid on anywhere near a regular basis, it should definitely be the latter. If not the first one may be a better choice. But remember - find a decent 2hander as your Agi line damage will be highly dependent on it.

I'm a level 70 defiler and this is my AP for soloing. Only have 41 in Shaman tree, the rest on Defiler tree. Agi: 4-4-8-6-2 (24) sta: 4-4-8 (16) Sta3 gives 8% block and 16% double attack with a shield equiped. I find that this combination works well so far. Since both Agi2 and Sta2 are combat CA, the 100% melee crit applies. Without using any spells, I can kill at decent speed. My avoidance with some legendary gear (only around 130 agi) is hovering at 27%. Feel like playing a buckler speced warrior, only without the combat arts..
