View Full Version : 75 plat spent and I STILL CAN'T SEE MY GUILD CLOAK!

Disclaimers: I am a 70 guardian in a casual guild. I do NOT raid, real life does not allow me to raid AND I do not care about roleplaying/heritage/lore aspects as much as some people.

Cloak of Flames - please SOE change this item. I am a guild leader guardian with no other reasonably obtainable haste item in the game and I can NOT show my guild colors.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider allowing us the choice of showing the flames or showing our guild colors. Hasn't the item been out long enough to allow this now?

I have elected to now not show a cloak at all instead of looking like I am a member of the biggest guild on the server - the "Cloak of Flames Guild".

Thanks,

Allurana

Smell The Roses

Blackburrow

it states on the cloak that it will not show the helaldry... this is a lore based game and its a lore based item from EQ1, i dont think they will change it and how did you spent 75plat on the cloak?

First cloak design = 5 plat

Seocnd cloak design = 20 plat

Level 60 cloak design = 50 plat

I am ok with SOE taking the stance with not allowing the customers to customize their gear aka armor tinting and such

BUT

they released customized guild cloaks with a hefty price and marketed it as a feature to the customers.

After all this time, you would think the 'specialness' of the cloak of flames has reached its climax and we could move on.

You can tell the difference between raiders and non-raiders in game now. If the character is a fighter class and in a casual guild they have a cloak of flames on (the only reasonably accessible haste item for casual players worth actually using). Raiders get to show their guild cloaks because they can 'move on' from the cloak of flames with better haste choices from raid loot.

All I am asking for is to be allowed to make the CHOICE.

You do have a choice, DON'T wear the cloak! There are many other great cloaks you could be wearing and still showing your guild heraldry. If dps is your priority, then Zek cloak or Marr cloak FTW! I am in one of the best raiding guilds on my server and those two cloaks are worn over the cloak of flames by some members..

The cloak of flames is a relic lore-wise and one should not be able to paint over it with their guild heraldry imo...for the some reasons why you can't adorn other heritage quest items.

They choose the other cloaks because they have OTHER haste choices that are accessible to them.

This is my only choice. I had the Marr cloak, COF is higher DPS for me than Marr without a haste item.

I am not asking for armor tinting, I am not asking to paint my house orange, not asking to make my plate armor look like silk.

I would like to have the choice to use a feature that everyone else gets to use.

I feel there are extenuating circumstances in this case and an exception to the HQ item ruleset be allowed for this item.

Then Zek cloak perhaps? Zek cloak puts out INSANE dps... just think it may be option for you to betray to Haven and get it, as I don't think they will be changing CoF anytime soon..

Haha, I appreciate the creative solution.

But I don't think it is a good idea to lose all my master spells and the dozens of hours of faction work just to get my guild colors to show.

I am hopeful that SOE will at least think about this issue. I know what I am asking for is a silly little cosmetic request but it also stands to reason that this just has to be an easy technical fix if the exception was to be allowed, it has to be just a flag on one item.

Please consider it SOE. I don't know how else to explain my position. Just about all our fighter classes are in COF now, it really isn't that hard to get and really is the only choice for non-raiders. Fighters without self-haste buffs NEED a haste item - this is it for us. I know my use of the word "need" will probably entice people to argue against it, please don't - it is my opinion as an avid casual player.

Have you thought about just wearing one of the other cloaks to show your guild heraldry then switching to the CoF when you need the boost in DPS.

Guardian use to do that all the time with sheild.. they'd swtich to a crapyer sheild when they used tower of stone so it would take the damage and not there good sheild... if your unwilling to do that, then get over it.

Unless your guild heraldry looks absolutely BADASS (which I have yet to see on any cloaks, really) then I don't really see what all the hype is about guild heraldry... plus, it's not like you don't have your guild tag under your name.

I might be missing something obvious here but I will throw it out there anyway..

If you wear the CoF in your normal slot and a secondary cloak in your appearance slot - does not the appearance slot cloak show your guild heraldry?

Just curious - the active CoF may apply its heraldry rule to the appearnace slot I don't know - just had to ask.

Sark.

Then make sure you have Guild Heraldry turned on, and voila. Easy.

Appearance slots are just that, they only affect how your character looks. So you won't lose the haste the Cloak of Flames offers either.

Can we get a forum feature that auto-locks a thread 6 mo's after the last time someone posted on it?
