View Full Version : DW vs. Fencing in the Post-GU36 World

I really do prefer the style of DW but I succumb to the sheer numbers of fencing with a Blade of the Bixies over the weapons my brigand previously had. Now that GU36 has changed fencing, has it made it more comparable to DW, or maybe fencing really hasn't changed in the big picture?  If they're more comparable now, I'm wondering what DR threshhold a set of DW weapons has to hit before they are better than fencing a Blade of the Bixies (in my situation, or any 1h in various situations -- see below)? I'm not asking someone to crunch numbers for my specific situation.  I'm just wondering if someone has done some comparisons between Fencing and DW after the changes.  If so, can you share what you found?  It may help me to extrapolate for my own situation.

is only a 4% redux to doulbe attack. meaning instead of double attacking on 72 of 100 swings, will double attack on 68 of 100. it is a slight reduction, but i don't see that as too major of a change.  and we lost 2 points of skill at 70 from coule.  still the best single skill increaser from AA's out there.

I kick [Removed for Content] with Agi/Sta trees. Potency is a must have, and increases to dispatch and debilitate ftw.

Ive done alittle to test the DW versus 1 hander post gu36,  at lvl 50 with comparable treasured weapons I deal aprox. 320 dps with Str/Agi  and 260 dpd Str/Wis this was using meelee damage and frontal non stunning attacks with mastercrafted caustic poison. Now i dont know how this carries thru end game but im dealing more with DW str/agi without back attacks IE: no avast ye procs then i am with maxed out double attack.  I would be curious to see how similar builds work with fabled weapons at end game. To see if theres still a differnce.

Str/Wis will be better when you start getting very good fabled 1 handers and will deal more % DPS the better the weapon. This is why your seeing more DPS with Agi at the moment than with Wis.</p>

After a few more levels and much better weapons I am still dealing more DPS with the DW str/agi then with Wis/str the difference in dps is around the same %. And BTW I'm lvling my second Brig(my old brig was lvl 70 only missing 2 masters and was completly fabled with claymore and top end fabled weapons so i know what your saying)i retired and sold my first on the station exchange and went to vanguard......But Ive also started observing stun back attack DPS at my lvl once i get some solid numbers ill be sure to post, again id like to see what the difence is to a 70 with fabled weapons, But i am seeing a diffence.
