Any one know any backstory on this shady little fellow? Its been a long time since I have done the quest, but an old-time character of mine, my halfling ranger is now going asassin (clearly making him a half-a$$) and I'd like to build a good RP backround on him...

Would definitely like to know if there is any sort of assasin's guild of halfers... Timery will be living in the caves of Haven and as he nears his 60th season as a hunter, he would like to become a killer for hire for many private organisations throughout Norrath and beyond..

Halflings could only be rogues in EQlive. They were members of the Deeppockets Guild. They might have only cared for your coinpurse more than anything else, but as a guild, they were a beneficial contributer to the city of Rivervale, doing what was right for the city.

The Deeppockets were some of the greatest little theives ever known.. but I am wondering if there was ever a more.. sinister organisation...

If you have ever talked to Lodo, you notice that he is quite the tough cookie, with not a whole lot of empathy for his prey...

Perhaps a known group of halfer bounty hunters? As far as I know there isn't one in existance, but I learn something new all the time..

Its not as important to me that it be a previously established guild in Rivervale persay (because I know of all the ones there already). I just thought that perhaps there was a known band of adventurers that I was unaware of that were a bit more malavelent in nature than your average halfer..

That is why Lodo Bightn came to mind for me. His manerisms are quite unilike most halflings..

hes possessed by the shadowed men. the quest even says in the end how they were looking for the guise of the deceiver(although not by name) to help them infiltrate freeport.

Cusashorn wrote:
wait, remind me again who Lodo Bightn is?
The halfling that is the assasin in the quest: The Reaching Blade of the Assassin. After killing him, the gnome that you are protecting alludes that he was after the mask of deception- this was the original way to find out about that quest.
