View Full Version : Immunities (AA) for better or for worse? Answer me these questions three.

Immunities before was 800 resistance to all resists for all group members. That was a total of 33,600 Resists. Now the group gets a 6.4% chance to resist a lvl 70 spell.

I don't mind the change, but I think it is still a bit lacking. First off, I believe the lvl 70 base absorption is a bit disappointing. In MMIS we have to fight lvl 75 mobs, so how does the 6.4% chance stack up against higher levels mobs? I have a feeling the main reason for the lvl 70 cap is for the pvp (unless I am off base, let me know). 6.4% is a bit low compared to the 33,600 in total resists we had before, but that would not be bad if our ancestry stacked with it. Now ancestry is supposed to increase ALL trigger chances by 3%, yet the new Immunities AA is not getting increased. Is this working as intended? Lastly, is this something people would consider using for a raid given the % and lvl 70 base?

I thought I would post my thoughts, and hopefully get some input from the community.

The thing I like least about [Removed for Content] is the range, 7.5 meters. So where you could stay out of AOE (or taunt or whatever) range yourself before, now you have to stay in range of the mob to protect any melee'ers in your group. And even then, if your group is spread out you won't cover them all.

I suspect the effect could end up better because the spell effect is prevented instead of just damage reduction, which could have been the result often enough before, but that's just a guess.

Guess the INT line was aimed more for pvp. I Was dissapointed big time to see the lvl70 limit there. Most of the EoF lvl 70 instances have higher lvl mobs so wont do anything agains them i presume. Not to talk about raids... Only the SpellCrit sounds nice nowadays in INT line. .

For some encounters the posistioning of healers have to be at max range, hence the MT will not benefit from the protection. I think this is one AA I might pass on. HOWEVER, I did notice that scrouge did dispell the SK buff Caress from Mayong, so I may just keep immunities for just that ability. I am going to start another thread to see I can gather a list of dispellable buffs from raid zones.

Not exactly sure about this, but I believe when it says Profession spells it's refering to the actual level of the spell, not the NPC. For instance, "Hunker Down". You see that alot on Guardian/Zerker class mobs. Even if the mob is lvl 75 "Hunker Down" is still a lvl 13 Profession spell. (So really, level 70 spell really is the cap, there are no lvl 71 Profession spells.) Racial, on the other hand really needs to be better explained. I'm guessing that certain abilities that you only see on specific types of mobs. Like the dispell aoE that the Root mobs cast in EH, I've seen it cast by several different mobs, but it always comes from that race, Like the Root Named on the 3rd Floor, He casts the same dispell as the lessor Root mobs on the first floor. As to what the level of the spell is I have no clue. Named Specific abilities Like Mayong's Touch, will probably not get stopped by it.

I posted in a thread over in the Defiler forums, so this is a bit of a cross post.

With that said, I spent over an hour in LP last night grouping with someone. Didn't see anything at all in my log file this morning indicating to me that it fired off at all (ie; protected him from any spells).

My gut feeling is that it is indeed meant perhaps for PvP.

I'm thinking for PvE to work, you need to be fighting a "sentient" being type of mob (ie; human, dark elf, barbarian) that would have racial abilities and a profession. And even then I don't know, because we killed a lot of those Bummer Gang Mobs. I also made sure to stand right next to the person I was grouped with.

So, unless I'm missing something (ie; don't know what the log file would say) then either Immunities is broken, or the requirement are WAY TOO narrow.

Additionally, I cast Scourge (another INT line AA) on everything I could, and I only found one referrance to it at all, when it said something along the lines of "You tried to burn <NPC> with Scourge, but they resisted."
