I play an assassin, and I have a ton of combat arts, far more than I have hotbar space for. I am also a max level tinkerer, and of course, the amazingly cool tinkered items need to be hotkeyed in macros for quick and easy use. All said, I have nine completely full hotbars. The first three are all skills I use in combat, the fourth is overflow skills I don't have room for on my primary three, power clickies and other long reuse temporary buffs, such as blessings, miracles, racial traits and signets from the city merchant. I have another hotbar for self buffs, transfer and other maintained spells, as well as a quick click for my mount amongst others. On top of that, I have more hotbars for gear swaps, tinkered items and all my poisons and potions. I also have a minor problem with the mouse. I much prefer to use the keyboard if at all possible. However, when I went to look into the hotbar settings in the options with the intention of making hotbars four and five available to me via the keyboard, the options are not there and thus, impossible for me to bind hotbars four and five to shift+alt+# and shift+ctrl+# respectively. I was pondering about this for a little bit and ended up thinking... how hard could this possibly be to implement? I am not a coder or programmer, I know a little scripting and minor programming but nothing major, and of course I know nothing about the EQ2 client's inner workings. What I was wondering was if other people would like this feature and if it would be a feasible feature that would be used by other people, not just me, and if so, if it would be possible to implement. I did submit a feedback via the lovely /feedback, but I want to know what others think before I get my hopes up and pray that it gets done! So... what are your thoughts of adding options to make the fourth and fifth hotbars able to be used with the keyboard?

Now, you COULD potentially cut your hotbar usage roughly in half by combining 2 skills into a macro to use. This works best really only on skills where you use them back-to-back 100% of the time. (for instance, as a swash it's my habit to hit en-guarde and inspiration back-to-back, so it would make sense to combine those 2 into 1. 3 skills won't work on a single hotbar unless the first is insta-cast (due to how the queuing works). This may work pretty well to consolidate your tradeskill buffs, but then the hard part comes when you need to use a certain buff first for the tradeskill 'reaction-events' that come up... so it's a hard choice to make to go the macro route. Sorry you're kinda stuck buddy, not a whole bunch else anyone can do for ya, unless you get a programmable keyboard or something *shrug*

If you're really down with a keyboard, go all out with the advanced uber keyboard tactics and toggle a single hotbar through all ten of the hotkey banks. Default is shift + bank number (with 0 standing in for 10), but you can change this to whatever floats your goat in options under Controls > Hotbutton Keys. Get this down and you only need 13 keyboard keys total to hit any of the 120 possible hotbuttons. More than just two more banks! Woo!
