To the Devs:

Thanks for not gimping the monk by taking away double attack on the STR aa line. Still not crazy about the no-wep restriction, but I'm good with double attack and no negative consequences on Chi.

Thanks again for listening to us!!!

What has the Monk become.

Thanks? STR line is now the worst line on brawler AA, double attack unnarmed? bleh useless if u finally get fabled weapons or just a pair of good legendary that r easy to get, and u can do more dps with WIS/INT line or STA/WIS/INT.... thanks to the ppl like u crying for that useless line we lost some good boost at tanking and dps.

The people who campaigned for keeping the str line unchanged are really going to regret it when the epics come out. The only real value it's ever had is Roleplay and for saving a little coin while leveling up.

Now i don't know how good the +CA aa was since i never got to test it, but i would have much rather seen it fixed if it was sub-par than have a whole line of aa's be unavailable because i have a good weapon.

I was all excited when I read they removed weapons restrictions for the AA's. Now finally I can get my double attack with my hand weapons I prefer. But I log in and see that they pulled the weapon restrictions for everything BUT str. *sigh* My question now is it worth putting the points into it just to get Chi?

Ok we got a few improvements like the other classes did. We got the reduction to crane flock. which is long overdue.. thankyou. we got another ae for extra aggro control and stun Crane sweep .. thankyou. (that will def helpt for aggro control while grouping) and the removal of negative effects from chi (thankyou!). reduction in recast of our targetable FD .. makes us slightly more raid useful.. (thankyou). however. CHI is still for a dps skill. almost pointless at 15 minutes. 5 minutes would have been a good value for people to wanna pick that line. or 3 minutes like most of the warrior AA seems to have been reduced to also leaving the restrictions in place for non weapons still make that line pointless for anyone who really wants to do dps on raids.

oh and thanks for fixing that Firebreath 4-5 seconds thing. that was bugging me.

anyways it was a positive overhaul for us. but still not enough to do anything at all to our raiding ability. or increase our dps (in relativity to other classes since tehy also got these upgrades. My wishlist: Changes strline to apply to anyweapons. very dissapointing this was not changed. Chi Reuse reduction. (suggested 5 mins) Extra Group buff (all other tanks get at least 2.) PLEASE change the "mountain stance" line. how many of you acutally use this skill? ever? (change this to a skill or stance that makes tanking epics viable for a monk) slight increase in our Haste group buff (haste is one of the most useless group buffs at its current level of effectiveness i recon.)

An annoying change is setting all the AA attacks to one cooldown. If I pull with Mantis Star, I have to wait for my other AA skill to cooldown now before I use it. Minor I guess, but still.

I think what he meant by useless, is that you have to put 22 aa to get it, and you don't get any benefit from the 2,3, & 4 skills if you have weapons, which after 65ish, most monks do.

I totally love the str line now. But then, I'm on a PvP server and my weapons weren't much to talk about in the first place. Quite pleased with the changes, my chances now of actually winning a fight have improved considerably. So from my point of view, these changes gave the monk class much needed boost.

No offense but imo PVP is the worst thing that ever happened to PVE. I have another account that I play PVP on, and I like PVP for the most part but I am a PVE kinda guy. There is apparently no way for SOE to balance the two however and they should just make them completley different updates. Everytime that a complaint is lodged on monks (or any other class) from a PVP server it has dramatic effects on PVE. We are a great solo/group/PVP class (and several classes are better than us at all of these and raids) but that isn't the whole game and I paid for the whole game. I want to enjoy the entire game with my main toon, is that too much to ask.

I have no idea what some of you guys are talking about. The STR line is totally worthless if you have any decent weapons at all. When I remove my weapons my auto attack damage goes down from 600 DPS to about 200 DPS. There is nothing in the STR line that can make up for that loss. My guess is that those of you who use the STR line don't have good Fabled weapons.

Making the 2nd row all share a timer has really hurt me. I built down the AGI line to Altruism and spam Baton Flurry. I also built down the WIS line for Crane Sweep and the INT line for Eagle Spin. With a properly set up Hotbar you can use all 3 of these abilities during combat by quickly switching weapons. Now, since they share a common timer, I can only use 1 of the 2nd row abilities. I can respec and move AAs, but I can still only use Baton Flurry.

So, not only do I lose 2 abilities (when I thought I was going to gain 1), but any AA points I put in another 2nd abilitiy are wasted. The new set up FORCES me to use AA points in an ability I CAN NOT use. It's not that I chose not to, or that it's not good for my toon, but I simply can not use another ability in the 2nd row that I put points in.

Some might say that I can use another ability INSTEAD of Baton Flurry. And, this is their argument that I can still use them all. Well, if I use, say, Eagle Spin, then I can't use Baton Flurry. So, either way, I have spent AA points I CAN'T use. I wonder what genius at SoE missed that one?

Sometimes Eagle Spin might be better than Baton Flurry. It definitely is for Bruisers (to get the extra backstab attack easier). There are definite situations where an AE attack is more useful than Baton Flurry. Yes, you can't have them used at the exact same time.. but you still have options. I'm not saying it's not crappy to have lost the option of using them at the same time. However, it's not like you spent points on something that you CAN'T use EVER. I have the Wisdom and Int lines. I will use the AE damage attack when I'm fighting groups. Otherwise I use Eagle Spin. I am using both over the life of my character, specialized purposes for each ability. It's like our Taunt Proc on the same timer as the EoF Detaunt proc. You can't use them at the same time, but you WILL use them for different situations. I would still be totally for opening these up so all 2nd tier abilities can be used all the time... I'm right there with ya on changing it. But it's not as bad as some folks are trying to make it out to be.
