I noticed this too.. what are the duration reductions like? Mezzing epics is nearly pointless.. rooting would be good if the duration was reasonable.

15.3 seconds. With a 2 minute, 18s immunity. Definitely a "hold em for a bit" thing, not a true lockdown.

Yep. Between Mez and then Root, you can hold off an epic target for nearly 30s. That's quite a long time in raid fights. Just as an example... holding back one of the Doom Trio on pull. ~27-28s holding back the High Priest, while stunning, dazing, and stifling the Ravager as you burn the heck out of him. Really makes that fight a lot easier than just trying to take it all right off the bat. I know.. bad example.. EoF out now and all that. But it's a good example of control in Epic fights, so imagine like back before we were all even KoS fabled out.

Because it will last 2 seconds at most if you got people hitting it. 24 peeps 5% chance to break / dmg = high breaking chance if it gets hit. Its good to lock a mob away from encounter tho. Mez for 15 seconds (illy not coercer) and que up root and it lands right befor mez lasts 15 seconds and yah got an effectiove 30 second keep mob away from us spell combo.

Also note that epic mobs gain daze immunity when you use root.

Just wanted to add that as of the last GU, Guardians lost a lot of time on their Plant ability which was an extremely helpful spell if a necro was about to Lifeburn. Our guild generally has a Guard as the MT, so when I see our Necro about to LB, I root the target and if the necro pulls agro Thoughtsnap real quick. So far no Necro deaths...
