I use Animal Form quite often on myself to regen power on trash mobs, especially after doing a lot of nuking. However, I've always wondered how often this is used on another member of the group, and what their reaction would be. I don't think I've ever used it on a group mate, partly because there isn't usually a need to do it, and partly because I'm not sure how they'll react to it. For the Furies that have this ability, do you put it on another member of your group regularly? If so, do you tell them beforehand that you're about to stifle them so they can regen some power?

One of our inquisitors is begging for it all the time on Avatar fights. I usually tell him to F off; one reason being I need to use it every chance I can, if only for a few seconds, and second I have no doubt that he'd let his group all die with it on. In instances I try to never use it, as it drastically lowers my zonewide dps lolz... of course, not as much as being out of power... so I try to make use of alternative power regenerative strategies.

I don't usually worry about my DPS parse though and I like having power during extended fighting.

To the OP: No, I don't tend to use it on many others simply because most people are dumber than p i g s h i t and simply don't "get it" and usually run around like a headless chicken screaming "OMG, I can't CAST, I can't CAST!!!!" even though my animal form is macroed to send them a concise tell explaining a) what is going on, b) what they are supposed to do, and c) how to cancel it if they want.

I use it on others very rarely in raids, but everyone that can have it knows about it. I send a short macro into the raid chat while sending a descriptive tell how to turn it off etc.

I usually like to use it after a Mana Burn, but have been told by one person that they would rather be Out of Power then Stifled. So I don't use it on others too often.

Gadly i have a 70 wiz along my 70 fury, so i experienced both sides of the story

as a fury:

i never cast it on anyone unrequested, well at least not anymore. i did in the past, as well with a macro telling them what to do and why. honestly, those who will adapt actually already know this AA and ask for it themself....95% of the others...well, emotions range from not even noticing, that theres something different (lol) to getting angry and insulting me ^^

sad truth is, most ppl will either not listen to you, won't understand you anyways or just won't use it appropiately (or CANT use it, f.e. weaponskill below zero *g)

i admit, that stifling a caster sounds everything, but productive/helpful ... but why oh why is this word reason enough to stop listening?! .... so, this AA needs an explanation prior to cast...when beating mobs and suddendly thrown on, this will definately not help unless already been clarified in the past

so i just throw it on my mates in raid, and then still only on request, since raidmobs are actually harder to hit, thus powerreg may be limited

as a wizard:

depending on the mob i very much prefer it over self cropping and leeching ... all i need is:

- weaponskill on limit

- weapon with at least 1,6s delay and decent dmg-ratio + mana-proc adornment

while i crop i do absolutely NO dmg, while i'm stilfed i can still do 500-600 DMG, minimum 200-300 which is better than nothing...and powerreg in 8 of 10 cases will be much faster than normal leech...also keep in mind that you can cancel animalism whenever you want...this is totally up to you

it's a shame seeing ppl with a 4s-delay twohander, skill somewhat near temperature outside ... and ranting about that AA, refusing to at least enlighten them in order to be better prepared next time....i'm tired of them

my 2 cents

No one seems to want to try it, even though I love it on myself.

I keep it for myself, I will use it on others only if they ask for it and they know how to benefit from it. Nothing like casting it and having the recipient stand there and wonder what the heck is going on. But I think that people should be educated by their local fury on the power that is animal form.

Know you know, and knowing is half the battle

GI JOOOOOEEE!!!!!!!!

I have used it on others a couple of times in raid. Once when one of my mages was OOP after a manaburn, the other when one of them was OOP after being rezzed. Even though I have a macro that sends a tell explaining it and how to cancel it, and even though I've discussed it with them, there was still confusion. I will probably still use it on my mages occasionally, but for right now it's primarily for me. I find it extremely useful for the blood colossus fights in MMIS--there's almost no healing needed in those fights, just a long burn, so I dump all my power nuking and then switch to animal form to get it back. (Note: you can still use your manastone while in animal form.)

The mages are taking no damage, and after the mob is debuffed the MT isn't really taking much either. I'm meleeing the mob myself to add to the dps, and I never take more than around 20% damage from it. These mobs have so many frakking HP that I'd consider myself slacking if I didn't contribute everything I could to the dps.

i used Animal Form while dueling a Templar. Templar was fabled out and had prist 2 weapon w/ ft 14 My fury is fable out but doesnt have that much mana regen. Since it was a healer fight, it was LONG, i let the templar spend some power in nukes while using regrowth heal. when templar was about 20 % power, i went on dps mode and cast Animal Form, all my power and life became full, everyone was like [Removed for Content]! . so i guess it can be used to one v one someone who is close combat w/ u, but b careful w/ the stifle.

I only give it to people who know what the hell it is and what to do with it.

I have cast it on people and shouted in vent "<insert name> go melee for mana regen" because like they are Out of Power... and they scream "I'm stifled I'm stifled" and run around without meleeing.

So basically my answer is pick 2-3 people on the raids you attend regularly... explain to them what animalism is and tell them to ask for it when needed... if they don't ask.. hoarde the ability for yourself ;-p

If you can find an Inq or Warden that is smart... they are real good canidates for it because they often melee anyway.

yup i love it and do not know what i woul;d do without it as we burn thru some power.

I used it on a few raiders. after pestering them if they want it... they might slowly regen... or like one wiz who i guess ther weapon type skill was low did not regen much. but yea no one asks for it like a heart and shard thats for sure.
