Stone Deaf: Now has a percentage chance to trigger (100% at Master I), Mitigation is now calculated in determining if the Stoneskin triggers its damage threshold. I looks like it will proc less. So, nerf huh? We will tank worse after the next GU.

humm... maybe it's not so bad...

aside from having to buy a master one, now it calculates with mitigation, so it will proc on the bigger hits now right?

say you have 6000 health, a hit comes at you for 3001 damage and triggers the stoneskin

now a hit comes for 3001, mitigation is taken into account making the hit lets say 1500...no proc...saving the trigger for a bigger hit that would be more than 50% after mitigation.

is my understanding correct?.... not sure how i feel about it without having tested...thoughts anyone?

i have not been on the test server for about a week or so. but when i did /testcopy my bruiser over.. and checked Stone Deaf... i was not happy.. The dev mentions it will be 100% with a M1..... i am fine with that. But Stone Deaf on test was still a non-upgradeable spell.. as it is now on live... it has a 84% chance to work now... Not good... hope this is changed..

I think saving the trigger for a bigger hit doesn't save us.

I'd say we will "pull" worse, not tank worse... cuz this ability wasn't really up long enough or recast quick enough to count for solid "tanking" benefits. What really pisses me off is that they USED to give Master 1s for this ability.. and I had one drop and scribed back in DoF days. But now it won't count at all. And why the hell do we change it now? What's the point? Everyone is going to try and get Master 1 anyways, and if that's 100% then what did this change do exactly in the end game? If they changed it so they can make an upgraded version at a later level (like 75 or whatever).. then fine. But with 100% already being achievable, it leaves nothing for upgrades anyways. This is nothing but a bait-and-switch change that hurts our fun for no reason whatsoever. It's like pulling the wings off of a trapped fly.

I only use it when running/feigning, nameds with AOE magic, and duels TBH.

sounds stupid to make us get a master one to bring it back where it was. What is the point of this change?

It makes a difference on a Pvp server ^^ I dont have stone deaf M1, because it didnt make a difference before, but now it may safe my butt when fighting a mage.... Ugh, I hate t6 masters

Interesting. I recall one day when I was staring at the broker and saw a Tsunami up for 4p. I was just about to buy it. This was while I was a monk, and before the changed it so the master did something. Actually, you suddenly had to have the master to get the same effect you'd had all along. I didnt buy it that day because I knew the upgrade did nothing. When they changed it later, I felt like an idiot for not thinking ahead. And Ive never seen it up again. It should have occured to me that Tsunami would get changed because the master exists, but does nothing. But because I didnt want to hear the voice of reason, I chose not to listen.

I then decided to keep a closer eye on available masters that do nothing in the upgrade, like the necro rez and the bruiser Stone Deaf. One day, I saw the master up for 2p. It reads Fabled, but it doesnt read Master I. It's a very strange looking master. I thought, you know, if the master ever gets upgraded like Tsunami did, then it will cost a shedload of money to get. So I bought it and stuck it in the bank. That was 6 months ago.

Now here we are with this change. Should I scribe it or should I sell it? Bruiser masters are cheap, but this one could be worth a lot because of it's rarity. Hmmm.

As a side note, I did buy the necro rez master for 30g one day and scribed it. You never know, it may pay off someday! Whenever someone asks me why I would do that, I recant the Tsunami tale of woe.

Well, it's after the patch and my Stone Deaf has remain unchanged. I didn't see anything about it in the patch notes either. I guess they decided against the bait-n-switch.
