hi, I play a 70 warden on naggy (Glucagon) and don't claim to be the best. I have my character copied 3 times on test so i could place him in each faction (fp, exile, q). I also have a 60 defiler and a similarly leveled warlock. The fights i mention here are with what i considered skilled players. Some fights i had access to the pvp chest plate and ring, and some i did not due to the different factions. These are my observations and reactions from testing on the PVP Test server after the heal, cure, and nuke nerf to wardens/healers: First off i would like to say i am very dissapointed in a certain GM/Dev for freely and unreasonably handing out full sets of Avatar armor and jewelry to certain people on PVP Test, thus disrupting the balancing of testing on the server, and resulting in poor feedback from fights that were unequal. The EoF buff bots are there for a reason -- to make sure everyone that is starting can be equally geared. 1. Warden vs Defiler: I fought an equally geared defiler for 30+ minutes. After 15minutes we decided to go offensive and dps each other. We did that until both were near out of power and hp. Then we started playing smart again. For the rest of the fight we brought each other to oop and near death but were able nonetheless to regain power while fighting ensued. I believe the Defiler and Warden class when it comes to a duel is highly equal and fair. We called it a tie after we a long time. Tie 2. Warden vs Coercer: I have to say, coercers are very, very nasty pvpers. This coercer i fought took every opponent he had and won. I couldn't beat him with my warlock so i tried with my warden. It was a close fight at times but i beat him. I would also say the warden vs coercer can be a very close fight. Luckily i had time to cast some heals while i was in red though to save me. Curing the arcanes is no longer a viable strategy with the cure nerf (there are better things to use in the short times you are able to cast). I saw this same coercer beat other wardens and healers with ease. Warden won 3. Warden vs Brigand: on naggy I used to be able to kill most brigands except for the notorious brokensword (nasty doubleup i couldn't prevent). I figured with the brigand nerf on test things would be easier. Not so! The first brigand i fought from onyx was easy but the 2nd brigand was a tough match. No longer can you cure the 13 trauma's on you because of the cure nerf. just gotta heal heal and heal. I fought this very skilled brigand for a long fight with me coming down to red several times and only an emergency death intervention saving me. at the end of the fight i was near oop. Because of how close to death i was several times and the duration of this fight. i would say brigand's can still be deadly on the battle field. Warden won 4. Warden vs Assassin: Some were easy some were very hard. The hard fight which i assume was from a skilled player in onyx was a great fight - Although i heard he was wearing full avatar gear the 2nd fight. Generally the big point is to avoid being caught low on health and have juggular used. Decap isnt so bad now either. Did have to use death interventions twice to survive. Long fight, at the end i had oop and he had oop, both in red life, i auto attacked for the kill and won by a sliver. I have to say because of the assassin's juggular and still potent killing blade +decap they are a deadly class. Then again, i say any class that can come close to killing me is deadly. we fought a few times and i died once to him due to reuse timers being down. Warden won. (this was before the healer nerfs, so outcome i probably woulda died) 5. Warden vs Swashbuckler: He won't mind if i use his name here so i will. Swass and i fought maybe 5 or 6 times on the test server. IMO swass is a skilled swashbuckler. Swashies can be pretty deadly if you aren't ready for them on live. on test it's a different story. fighting a swash was much easier. much much easier. this was also before the healer nerfs though but because of the difference in dfficulty, i would say with the healer nerfs it still would not have been a big problem. Swass is smart and kites my sandstorm even unlike most people, thus forcing me to disable it (wardens flame on for me revealing the secret). Swashbuckler vs warden i say is not an even match anymore and much more one sided. Warden won. 6. Buff Bot geared Warlock: couldn't kill the coercer.. wasnt able to land more than one spell and rest of the time i was locked up unable to cast as i was eaten alive. Ranger tough fight, couldnt win in many tries. Assassin got maybe once. overall i feel it comes down to if rift is resisted or not. and if manashield and fast cast arnt up, there is hardly any way i'm winning against a skilled opponent. I do not feel manashield is overpowered as some are discussing corrently. Conclusion: I still feel my warden is on par with several of the other dangerous classses. But makes me worried because i'm still able to kill most classes with ease. Although i like the incoming changes, i feel there are still classes that need a little help in pvp that have no chance against my warden. I also want to say that any druid out there especially warden complaining about the nerfs SHOULDN'T BE. learn to play. I also like the nerf of decap and harm touch etc, they help balance the 1v1's and duels. and arnt a free kill every 15min. I do not feel fusion deserved the massive nerf it took, as it is a very difficult spell to get off and easily avoided - unlike harm touch or decap. Once again, these are just my observations and feedback from playing on pvp test. Use them as you will. Glucagon 70th level Warden <Overlords> of Nagafen
