Was wondering if anyone has heard of this problem... I run EQ2 for about 30 minutes and sometimes it will give me a client error (I'm not sure which, I will record it next time it happens). However recently the game has just locked up completely and I've had to ctrl+alt+del and close the game. I played the game a few years ago and never had any problems, I'm even running the same machine I used a few years ago. Also this is a fresh install (I just re-subscribed today) Windows XP Geforce 7900 GT AMD 3800+ 1 gig of corsair ram

This is support forum stuff but before you leave

what youre having is a typical overheating error . You should have a look at your GPU and CPU fan.

I recommend Zalman

Yours

Brorim

I have no idea why this is happening, never had this kind of trouble, tell me, did you recently start using a router? that could easily be why.
Before you tell this player to rip their PC apart, why not check other threads about the same issue, its the god dam CLIENT FFS!

OK it locked up again 5 seconds after logging in and running around for a bit so i ctrl alt deleted. I set my sound to dolby instead of EAX for kicks since I saw that in another post and logged in again. This time my monitor went to stand by (as if a video card wasnt connected) for about 10 seconds, then suddenly popped back on again and I see the following EQ2 error: Fatal Error Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown <verify>D:liveeq2frameworkcoredevicessrcDirectX9RenderDevi ce.cpp (196: DirectX Error. (D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE)
Post your DXDiag info please This thread shows how to post what will be needed: Clicky

ok it was probably an overheating issue. I set up a giant fan next to my case and was able to play for hours thanks for the help
