View Full Version : Silent Palm :Worst level 50/70 skill.

This spell might have been okay back before they reduced all non-chanter stifle/stun durations, but as it stands now, this ability just makes me sad.  Not only is the damage horrendous , but the power cost is incredibly high.   6 seconds of stifle... I can proc that with my mantle from TT.  I think a nice step towards making monks more raid friendly would be to give them a level 50/70 skill that does more than 600 damage and stilfe (aka nothing in a raid) of the mob. Every other class I have seen gets something powerful if not class defining at level 50.  Necros get lich, bruisers get a major multi-encounter AoE, and brigands get a huge mitigation debuff that also does more damage than silent palm!  What do we get? Single target 600 damage for 180 power.  I would really like to see the damage on this spell go up.  Maybe make it do bonus damage against epics?  The fact that we can get an AA to decrease reuse is hilarious. Yes I really want to burn another 180power sooner.... /sarcasm off.  I'd love it if a dev could take a look at this spell.  A real close look at just this spell versus other fighters lvl 50/70s.  Please? 8^) --Toddie, 70 Monk of Nektulos --Covesh, 70 Monk of Nektulos (I am attempting to simultaneously delete and old post and create this post by editing it to a completely new topic. <p>The two biggest banes of monks are super hard hitting combat arts and damage spells in general.  Tsunami gives us 12 seconds of immunity from 99% of melee damage - it fades, daze/stun, they fade, throw in a stifle proc off the TT sleeves, wait till its down, pop the our own stifle on them and then fire up outward calm if its a caster and you can go almost 35-40 seconds without taking any combat art/spell damage.  Considering we are an avoidance class, that has good skills versus normal auto attack incoming damage - the timing of our combat arts to maximize the time we avoid the big hitters of the mob we are trying to solo - I think the durations are fine.</p><p>I do, however, feel that we are a bit snubbed on our level 50/70 class defining skills.  However, we also have some great utility skills along the way - Heal, Feign, Invis, Group FD, Outward Calm, Tsunami.  Honestly, I wouldn't mind a bump in the damage to our combat arts across the board - but I think there are some bigger fish to fry before looking into increasing that form of our damage </p>

It was a nice before when it is 15 seconds vs. Power usage. But since it is pulled back and forgot power usage to be pulled back too..
