Hi there I've come back from a break away from EQ2. I thought I may like to make a new character as a Mage, rather than my other Paladin character. I've played around with the Illusionist a bit in the lower levels and it seems pretty good. I've noticed on the forums though, people don't seem to speak about them much or recommend them. Did they do something bad once and now people don't talk about them? I was wondering if its maybe because they're difficult in the later levels. Also, like many here, I lack the time it takes to get a group and work the mobs, so I mostly solo, so is Illusionist any good for that? What say ye?

Illusionists are awesome. In a forum setting, take silence to mean contentment since most people don't start threads to say they're happy

I love the mages and my Illusionist is my 2nd highest toon. I solo all the time with her. She is great out there as you can mez and add and help your double kill one mob and then both go to work on 2nd and or 3rd. I am lvl 54 atm and doing lvl 55 (yellow) writs in SS. I taking on blue mulitples and solo yellows pretty easily.

Illusionists solo very well. I started one just to try and she has become my main now. The only reason why my K/D ratio has dropped lately is because I've been sneaking in to places I shouldn't be. I've been going in to areas well above my lvl and getting pounced on before I get a chance to run, or in my case fly away.
