I don't know about anyone else, but personally i think the fact that for all this new character content that is being added, i.e. the new Achievement trees, you have to buy the expansion. I think that the new character content should be given to all subscribers since we are already paying 15 bucks a month.

Like for me i just started playing this game and i havent explored nearly all of the world thats included but for me to have the second AA tree i have to pay 30 bucks for the FAE expansion, and i think the 15 bucks i already pay a month should infact include the new character content being introduced with expansions.

I dont konw what kinda games that youve been playing.... but typicly when theres an expantion to almost any game out there they not only add new levels/zones what ever you wana call them they also had new character perks. For example in shooters your get new guns in expatoins that aren't found in the orignal game. In the case of RTS's you get new units and it the case of everquest you get new character perks among others. ( in eq1 some expantoins gave us extra banks slots and such) New character perks is one of the things they use to get people to get the new expantion pack. Like i said its the same for any expantion in any game genre. There is new content that you pay for more levels/zones and new character perks. Its just the way it is. We pay 15 bucks a month for the people constaly working on the servers, maitiing them, the free content and to pay the people while they are working onthe expantoins we have to buy. The 15 bucks is well worth it when you look at all we are getting and all the work they are doing for us for 15 bucks a month. I dont konw why people like you complain about such things. Its rather silly. IF they only offerd new area for explortation thats not enough incentive for some people. Being able to do more for your character with acheivement points andso on are a big thing and help make people wana buy the expantion. Your acting like its an uncomon practice when its really quite common and its a big selling point for the expantions.

You sound like you have no intrest in getting expantions like you want things to be handed to you for nothing. I mean why buy and Mmo and not expect it to get bigger or think about buying expantions??? When i buy an MMO I count on expatoins because i want new content to explore, new levels to gain and more AAs. It something that you should expect and want from a mmo a world that prgressivly grows for new places to explore. If you expcet a wolrd that doent change at all i think MMO's arent the right choice for you.

Um no. Your $15 a month is for access to the game. If you want to be able to use new features and content, lay down the bucks for the expansion. That's the whole point of expansions.

Look at SOE and their expansion history with the EQ franchise. Major selling points for the majoirty of their dozen or so expansions packs are character content. AA abilities, level increases, tribute systems, new spells/disciplines, etc. Expansions are not just increases in physical world size.

Just started playing around with my new account and as i'm trying the cheapie version with no expansions I think you are wrong. The expansions cost money to produce and they are correct in wanting to make money on that work. However I think selling the base game without any expansions is a mistake. The original starting zones are so barren I suspect they run off more potential new players than they actually bring to the game.

which is 30 dollars more than the base game.

No reason to pay 40 bucks to see if I like a game. But the fact is the base game is pretty much a waste since theres no one in the old zones.

Bet a lot of people get lost that way. Thus my point of they shouldn't even sell just the base game anymore.

Oh well.......
