Play button stays grey

<p>Has anyone else had the problem that after game updates, the play button stays grey and says updating, but above it, it says download complete.  Also on the same screen it says it cant find any characters.  I logged on to eq2 players and all my characters are still there.  Any ideas on what I can do to start playing again?  Thanks in advance.</p>

Having the same issue.  Anyone know the work around to this or what to do to get this launcher/patcher working properly?

<p>OK, if the play button is grey it means you havent actually finished the download,  and generally its because one of a few things have stopped it:</p><ul><li>Check your firewall/anti-virus they may be blocking the downloads (they are quite often the culprit)</li><li>Are you running on Vista? If so, you need to run EQ2 as an administrator to get it to download everything</li></ul>

<p>Ok figured out the problem....if your playing on windows vista, right click the eq2 icon and click run as administrator, fixes the problem.</p><p>Good Luck!</p><p>errr what Rokaab said!</p>
