Why not increase the legendary drops etc at early levels (newb island etc) so that when someone who cannot twink (new player) enters the real world they have a chance to compete. This goes especially for PVP servers where anyone who isn't a twink gets slaughtered and has no fighting chance.

I've recently leveled three characters with almost a reverse twink mentality. Anything they loot that's is decent goes to my transmuter. Around level 15 I make them Apprentice IV abilities. Arasai SK is in all no drop loot aside from 3 Blackened Iron items created from ore she mined herself. She's level 23, has less than a Gold to her name, but has no problem fighting appropriate level solo content.

Do NOT balance anything in the PvE game based on PvP considerations.

Do NOT balance anything in the PvE game based on PvP considerations. Yeah I can agree with what you are saying and the reason for my post was I was considering going to a pvp server but have heard everyone is twinked pretty heavy and it will be a very tough slog.

New to PvP will be a tough slog. Find a friendly guild and hook up with them as soon as you can, or look up one of the many fine upstanding young men & women who have in the past offered to help new PvP players out early on. There are some good threads out there with some solid suggestions about how to survive. It's all about the coin. And the gear. And the AP's. Plan on making 2 PvP'ers, one to keep < level 9 or 10 and get you some rares.

Sorry Fodslad, I sort of mis-interpreted your post there. Yeah, I've heard exactly what you have regarding PvP. I gotta say I made a Defiler yesterday and started in the Outpost of the Overlord and my first chest was ornate with a 5 str 5 health ring. I had not seen (just bad luck) am Ornate Chest outside the cave on the Qeynos newbie island the last two characters I made there and locked for quite awhile to farm.
