Cannot download in the background: EQ2 dropping random folders on desktop

Hello.. I was playing and updating the game fine last night. This evening, when I went to go play, I was informed by the downloader that i had 6 hours of downloads to complete... Not only that, but when I clicked on my launcher, it dropped lp_lang.txt, and lp_rgn.txt onto my desktop. Once I pressed the "download button" lp_options.xml, Everquest2Patch.log, Keyboards, Miles, UI, music, and paks were also dumped onto my desktop. What can I do to fix this problem? Thank you in advance ^^

how did you place your icon on your desktop

dragged and dropped -_-.... I put the exe back into the EQ folder, and all is now well.

If you want an icon for the game executable on your desktop, then you can either run the web installer from our web site and tell it to "Repair": <a href="http://www.everquest2.com/install" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.everquest2.com/install</a> OR ... you can go into the EverQuest II folder and right-click on the EQ2.EXE file and tell Windows to Send To... Desktop (Create Shortcut). Those are the "safe" ways to fix the icon.
