I've been playing on Test PVP server recently, and decided to roll a conjuror. Now here's some backstory, i've always been a scout on a pve server, so this a new area for me, completely.

I was just wondering some things i should know, such as techniques or combo's or such, that'll help me along away.

As well as which Summoner tree i should choose.

I know its a lot to ask, but i fell in love once i started playing my Wood Elf Conjuror.

PURE PVP SET UP 4-4-4-8 str line 4-1 sta 4-4 wisdom now im assuming your on a beta buffed 70 conjuror always use the tank pet and pre buff blazing avatar elemental vestment and SHOCKWAVE(stamina aa stun) even if someone gets a jump in a 1v1 setting they are gonna get stunned and gives you enough time to make room and cast Frigid winds (this spell is the only way you will win most of the time) YOU GOTTA get this spell of itsa 75% snare. I generally then use my daze spell (shattered terrain t7 version) if someone is getting close and when stun immunity drops use clacify(5second stun). My conjuror rarely loses set up 1v1 battles atm on test. He isn't using that crappy beta buffed gear either tho.

thank you so much. I'm rolling a new conjy probably on nagafen once gu36 releases. this should help me so much, hoping to get better at pvp >.<, i'm at bout 1:2 kill-death ratio, hoping to maybe get that even. (though i'm usually grouped and have plane shift's aa filled)

At 40 you get your self stoneskin that absorbs 3 atttacks and 55 is the "best" snare frigid winds 55% unbreakable. I would go wisdom first with 5 points and then put 5 points into stamina both of those abilitys are great for soloing.

Thanks for the advice. I play a Conj as my main on Everfrost, so I understand the mechanics. I guess I'll have to make sure I group as often as possible.

I've heard that t2/t3 can be brutal on any cloth wearers, but I suppose thats where you first learn the hard truth about PVP. Ganking doesn't bother me (it happens in every PVP game) and I'm fairly certain I won't be a title [Removed for Content]. I just want to try my skills against other players in EQ2 , instead of the combat AI. Maybe I'll find i enjoy it, maybe not.

I play a 70 Conj on Nagafen. The great thing about Conj's is there's no single way to PVP.

I generally use my mage pet. Start out with Blazing Avatar pre-buffed, Frigid Winds - if it fails, root and retry. Then just burn them to hell. Stick intervene on pet if they even look at it.

If they get close, tremor, stoneskin and start running in circles while my pet wastes them.

I've tried the tank pet, but I prefer the fast dps of the mage in comparison. I usually find if I have him out, I can't burn them down fast enough.

On test though, I will definately be changing to the scout pet. He was ripping through things like a hot knife through butter - and the insta-pet revive kicks [Removed for Content].

Since LU36 you might want to look at AGI+STA.

Send in scout pet - they root/snare it - shadowstep it.

If they kill it - instantly resummon it.

If they get close to you, make it taunt them.

VERY very powerful combo. I've yet to loose a 1v1.

Haven't had a chance to play with my pvp conj lately but the recent GU makes using the fighter pet so much more fun now.

Max out the STA3 line and you can turn off your aggro every 10 seconds, essentially.

A maxxed out sta line would make your fighter pet unstoppable and give it a 100% effective taunt every 10 seconds.

More great advice. Ty all.

I was really thinking of trying out the Sta line for the lower tiers anyway, as we don't get the Scout pet till the early 30's. I'll probably respec later down on to see what works well for me (but still keep most of the Sta line)

Is the Sta line taunt really that effective in PVP? I've heard mixed feelings in level chat so far about it. Most non summoners I've talked to say its a joke, but they don't play conjys so my guess is they just don't know our class at all. I can certainly see how it could give you an edge in a 1v1, where seconds count.

I tend to find I'm moving around a LOT in PVP so it's kind of cast - run - cast - run etc. For that reason I want my pet to be doing a LOT of damage. I also (when soloing) don't want my pet to hit a group member who zones in, so that rules out for me both the fire and tank pets as both have encounter pets.

The only one that leaves for me, is the scout pet. That SoB is MEAN - and when planarshifted can rip through a PVP geared scout in under 10 seconds - he just says "Boo" to squishies. He has enough HP to live through the "taunts" from the STA line (Yes, they really are THAT good taunts) and should the worst happen, it's one button click and he's back at my side ready to beat the hell out of the freeports again.

He also has the fastest initial spike damage of all the pets which means when you Blazing Avatar him, all 5 procs go out in about 3 seconds.

I know the mage pet is better dps, especially versus encounters, but I've never really loved the "feel" of the mage pet. I liked the scout. The new GU justifies it's use, so I'm using it. Is STA or STR the best 2nd line to hit? Still running through my eof aa's after doing the agi line, so prepping for the next aa line

I am fairly new to EQ2, my highest character is a lvl 32 Necro but I have rerolled to conj on an Pvp server. I found this thread from a search (yes I know I found the button) but it died out so fast. I would like to hear more great tips from the conj community. AA points discussion for PvP threads are not that common, so lets make the best out of this one Cheers

I agree, let's continue to hand out information. This Conjuror forum often said 'go, shush, we don't pvp' .

In addition to what you can tell about the STR, AGI and STA lines..

how's 'Unabate' still worthwile since resists are made better after gu36? Or should I go respec it to that scouts taunt one.

Once I wrote this in a very old conjuror pvp threat, the game has changed and I have learned much more, so I will criticize my own advices.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hey Hakenso, I will try to answer your questions, but first you have to know that conjuror is one of the worst class to pvp, you will hardly find any high title conjuror running around, second I will give you the perspective from T7. (still true

Must have in PVP:

<strike>1. Scout pet, dont even think using any other pet in pvp, as resist is in game this pet will deliver much more damage than tank and mage.</strike>

1. My advice is: use the pet you are more comfortable with, and that you have your AA spec'd. POSSES your pet in town and study his spells, you will see that all spell of tank pet has an effect on it. With the changes on magic resists in the lasts months Mage Pet could be viable, actually I use him on raid pvp, only hard jobs is to keep him alive from all aoes, but if you have bubble its much easier. Scout pet, I still pvp with him.

2. Always carry Butterfly Tokens and cast see invi on you (true)

3. Always carry potion Freedom of Mind and Freedom of Action with you. When you said that a scout hit you and you could not move it was because he stun and stifle you, use this potions to get away from it. (true)

4. (new) Pvp armor, I am not talking about pvp set armor that you get with tokens, I am talking about loot that have EFFECTs on it that will help you in pvp. Get as many fear proc items as you can, I have the 2 hand staff from MMIS, and the Cape of Thule (evil god I know), and I am trying to get the stone of nizara, but no luck so far. My fear proc chance now is 4.4 per minute, with stone from nizara it goes to 6.4 per minute, every 9s it will proc fear.

Strategies:

1. Dont use root spell (too long to cast and easy to break), only use it if the enemy is trying to flee from combat. (true)

2. Always open the fight with a spell that has effects, like Tremor (Blur, knockback), calcify (stun), frigid wind (snare), shattered terrain (Stifle). And use this spells as much as possible, effects are everything in pvp. if I spot the enemy away I use Frigid Wind, Calcify and go on, if he is close I use Tremor first then the others.

3. If you going to fight scouts or wizzys pay attention on your stoneskin, use it in the very beginning of the fight. (true)

4. If you are fighting healers, try to syncronize Tremor, Calify and Shattered Terrain (new: and Blazing Avatar), so you interreput him long enough to stop him healing. (New: and pray to your fear itens proc. Right now with my pvp armor I win 95% of fights against healers, once my fear procs, they are dead. )

5. If you are fighting tanks. Plate tanks, try to snare and get some room. For monks and bruisers, just go full dps and try to beat them before they kill you. (new: most of tank hardest ca's are blue aoe, if you fighting a zerk get inside of lots of greys mobs, and kite him if he gets agro)

6. Dont waist time using Dumbfires Pet in pvp, like aqueous horde and pyromancy. (true)

7. Get AAs in EoF evocation line, reduce all spell casting and try to get Unabate. (true)

8. (new) While pvping with your scout/tank pet, some healers will try to root him away from you, you can cure arcane him or get closer to the healer and summon your pet.

9. (new) Pay attention on line of sight, especially with rangers, you can play tricks with your pet, like sending him and hiding behind a rock

10. (new) There are a lot of nice AAs for pvp conj, right now I am spec'd for raid, but if I went AA pvp I would look forward to stonekin, force tank pet taunt, teleport scout pet. I actually would go full into agility line and make my scout pet a monster.

11. (new) If you spot the enemy away from you, try to pre buff your pet with blazing avatar, plane shift and elemental vestment, in that sequence, once he is on you stop buffing your pet and burn your enemy.

12. (new) Fighting Illusionists, coerces and troubadors, there is 1 item in game that prevent their mezzes (I will not tell what it is), and another that procs 10K mental resist, try to get both.

13. (new) Learn to kill your pet!!! Intervention is an amazing spell for pvp, it will heal you for almost 2K!!!

but the main message for pvp is:

EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs

EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs

EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs EFFECTs

edit: add a few more stuffs.

Thanks! Many options so to see. What a fun class we have

Thanks also for point #7..

..since just this afternoon we got GU37 and Unabate is apparently reduced from 20 to 15%. Please inform me the 'bout the consequences you think/experience this has on the priority of choosing this evocation line over another.

The evocation line in EoF tree is the best by far, for raid and pvp, its a must have, we land +98% spell with unabate at 20%, its still an amazing choice even if its 15% .

But, if you take out Unabate, what other line woul you go? Bubble is for hardcore raiders and Hydromancer is a junk for pvp and raiders. So I would go for Unabate and Stoneskin.

This is really such an awesome thread Id really love to keep it rolling. Im curious how you guys do your EOF nuke tree. Do you just get everything? I mean I look at them and they are all so freaken sexy to decrease the casting speeds that I feel like Id be really nerfing myself if I didnt sink 5 points into all of them with the exception of frigid winds. Also is a Str 4 4 4 7 Agi 4 4 4 8 2 Stam 4 4 1 viable? Its kinda hybrid but you end up with a kick [Removed for Content] scout pet, who can taunt, be resummoned if he dies and 7 points in crit spells.
