The link to post a new topic in a forum is there and works when you mouse over it but it is invisible so people do not realize it is even there. This has apparently been a widespread problem reported by other guilds. Is this something that will be fixed soon?

Thanks for any help in this matter!

Oggo (Dauntless of Venekor)

Yup those buttons are Still missing in my guild forums as well. Thing is, the day they went missing was the same day they went missing in my guild's Vanguard forums as well. Funny thing, the Vanguard people fixed it the same day. When will our EQ2 buttons be back from beyond?

A week to go through the QA process. For a CSS change?

For a problem that's been self-evident for, what, months? I presume this is, in fact, the same QA process that allowed the bug to be created, failed to be found in testing, and remain unaddressed for a considerable amount of time?

I realize that while these problems have caused such intense and persistant pain, that the relief of these problems can be almost euphoric, but I don't think that SoE's responses to these chronic, and reoccuring lapses in quality and service really warrant such optimism. Quite the opposite, I think.

That being said, it was very kind of you to share your information with the group, I don't wish to shoot the messenger. I just don't think it's fair that you should have to be the one chasing these demons down and reporting on them. As Tyrlien mentioned, even other SoE games have provided better (although I doubt consistently so) support than what we experience regularly here. The only regular SoE presence here has been one representative who's sole function appears to be posting trivial fix lists, and even this news seems to have evaded him. Why is that? Demonstratably, the EQ2 player community is providing better QA, better debugging, and better more responsive support than the people who supposedly have those responsbilities as their job.

@SoE: I have abandoned the extra services for this reason. I've been much happier hosting my own forums, on my own software, having control (and responsibility) for getting things right. I've also advised my guild members to discontinue their subscriptions to the expanded services for this same reason - why am I paying for a service that I don't want, doesn't work properly and in some cases, never worked properly? Why should I be grateful when it's finally fixed after an unreasonable battle to identify the problem, get in contact with someone who can do something about it, get them to acknowledge the problem and then finally have the fix applied? Other guild officers I've been in contact with share similiar sentiments, and have made similiar choices. You've collected fees from me and possibly thousands of other people for a feature that doesn't work as advertised.

Enjoy your money pillows, I guess. I'm not going to keep stuffing them for you though.
