I'm taking a wait and see attitude on the wizard changes rather then rush to judgment. While these changes may comprise a dps nerf in the short term, we won't really know the long term impact until we see what RoK has in store. I think it is very possible, quite likely even, that spell damage will be far more heavily itemized in RoK then previously. This is consistent with what contemporary MMO's have done at similiar stages of progression. Furthermore, this would address caster dps scaleability issues that would be very difficult to reconcile in the long term otherwise. Given a choice, would you prefer a greater set damage buff through achievements with little to no scaleability in terms of itemization or progression, or a great deal of scaleability with slightly less of a fixed augmentation through achievements? I, for one, would prefer the latter.

Also, in this context, the changes to the intellect line, while seemingly lackluster atm, could result in a very viable line for the raiding wizard. With enhanced spell damage itemization, agility/intellect could become a very powerful raiding build while wis/int or str/int could also be attractive options playstyle dependant. While this is clearly a nerf to us in the short term, if the result is scaleable dps in the long term through itemization and progression it will be well worth it. As a result, I'm going to reserve judgment on the changes in LU36 until I see what RoK has in store for us.

All I can say, is that I sure the F hope so.

It would require a major change to itemization. At present, the strong majority of mage items barely result in any increase to DPS.

If you where doing 2k before those you should be doing over 3k after them.

The progression and itemization is there if you can progress to get it your dps will go up. While the Robe has no substitute from lesser mobs with slightly downgraded effects, the Orb and Earring do.

If RoK provides items available from raid instances that are similar to, if slightly less powerful than, Avatar gear, then I'll truly stop cursing SoE's name.
