I'm sure there are other threads similar to what i'm hoping to do here, however I felt, since this is a probably the most controversal forum on the boards, I felt it appropiate to add it here.

With all the complaints, whines, moans and groans about EQ2 (and PvP), let us just for a moment remember why we <strike>care</strike> love EQ2. I for one love the visuals now I am using my new PC and run high quality in PvP. Albeit PvP is and will always be slightly unbalanced toward some classes, I do appreciate the effort made by the developers and coders for making a game I enjoy playing and being a part of.

Lets not be spoilt little children.

Remember when most of us were young, we only had systems like the Nintendo Gameboy, Amstrad computers, Amiga's and god forbid it... no computer at all.. and err.. some kind of D&D card games... and err citadels.. lolz.

Please reply only with the things that keep you coming back to EQ2..

I keep playing because in my opinion this is the most polished game out there. I've tried them all to some extent, at least the ones my computer would run; and I always find myself coming back here. Even now after a large percentage of my friends have left or are on an extended 'leave of absence', I still log in because, quite frankly I like this game. The friends I've made since I started here have been some of the most wonderful people I've met throughout the entire nerdfest that has been my MMO experience. The select few who I've spent time with that don't let all of the egos get to them, those few people who have fun, no matter what happens-they are a big reason why I'm still around. I enjoy the classes, I like the quest system, and I love PvP; that's why I'm here. I ignore 99% of what goes on both on these forums and on the Nagafen server that I play on because the few friends I have are enough for me. I've been through quite a bit in the last year and a half outside the realm of my nerdfest, and logging in when I can helps to release the stresses of a real life. It isn't an escape, it's merely a way to relax my nerves that doesn't involve bars, alcohol, and other things along those lines. At the same time, I continue visiting these forums because it never fails to give me a chuckle here on this side of the monitor-seeing how passionate people are, and how upset they can get over this silly little video game we're all addicted to just makes me smile. The forums along with the T7 world are like the dysfunctional family I've always dreamed of having-it makes my perfect little world seem just a little bit better. Thanks guys. =)

The people I've met, from all three factions, keep me coming back. Most are just good people looking for some adventure. The kids and l33t-people I can /ignore and the rest are all pretty nice. Even my foes have shown themselves to be, overall, pretty good people. Many people who don't know me from Adam took me in when I first started, gave me some tips, showed me how the game worked, and now shake their heads at my lack of pvp skill. I also keep playing because of the updates. It shows the SOE team take customer satisfaction seriously. They don't speak a whole lot, but the regular updates tell me they are paying attention and truly want a game people will enjoy. Majo, 51 Guard and Walking Token Dispenser

I keep coming back because I keep trying to find out what class to play...

EQ2 is the best online persistant game on the market, bar none. That we have PvP makes the environment all the more enjoyable. You CANNOT truly immerse yourself in ANY online game unless there is the adrenaline rush that comes with a PvP environment. Sony has done an admirable job with their PvP, and while I have had issues with some of the changes that have come down the pike, and I am sure I will have problems with others as well, they continue to keep the game alive for me.

Played EQ1, SWG, WoW, Guildwars, AC and a few more. From all the games I have played so far, this is the most fun and entertaining. I love the PvP (...meanwhile), the complexity of the game mechanics (compared to WoW ), the graphics, the quest stories, the economy, the crafting system, etc. I could continue this for a long time. EQ2 == best MMORPG atm.

I come back to see what they have done. For instance in a day or 2 I will take a 2 or 3 month brake, play my other mmo's like ffxi and then if I feel like playing my chars i'll pay 15 bucks for another month and log in to see what they have or haven't screwed up. Its fun to see which chars I can even bear to play, which chars they have broken the legs of with their aluminum bats, and which ones they gave some pcp to and told to run along and play.
