I know a few ggames that have no updates, patches or support and we are stuck with what comes out of the box.. but is 'change' always for the better? I like fixes and things, but most of all i prefer NEW CONTENT! Balancing existing things... well, you know the saying, why fix it if it aint broken, well what if the jury is still out on whether or not it is truly broken, in everyones opinion? Unless votes are taken, it can be hard to determine. The ultimate struggle, this. Its a bit of a blanket statement really...

Every game that goes online nowadays usually has that statement "Game Experience """May"" Change During Online Play" what this means is this, after the game is finished and released to the public, changes to the game play happen each expansion, and the DEVELOPERS don't know how the game will play with a mass player base, AKA overpowered classes, or gimped classes. The DEVELOPERS ""may"" want to change the combat, or change the clothing for characters. Look at SWG, that game got totally revamped! EQOA, when the Frontiers expnsion was released, the race looks changed! EQ2, this game is in no way the same as when it was released, it has gone through major changes, (most for the best) If there was never any updates, or changes, this game would be free. We are not paying to play, we are playing for support and good expansions! -Arctura- wrote:
LOL (hope that didnt offend anyone, it was just a light hearted analogy
I am not offended. Hard to take a stand on all the updates we have to coop with. But I do think SOE needs to look where the incentive is coming from. Sometimes 5% of EQ2 playerbase that visit this forum, and the 10% of that 5% that take the time to whine about a feature get the 100% change ingame. That feels 'unbalanced' to say the least.

I know a game where everyone could answer questions about proposed directions of the game (i.e. updates) ingame, at a booth in the major cities. (Entropia Universe MMORPG 2003 - *). That felt somewhat better. They changed things but at least the whole community was polled. After all, in Entropia its real US$ economy they changed with their coding.. and boy were we mad when something changed totally lol (yet it did anyway)

I subscribed on EQ2 testserver to try help our programmers with better feedback.
