Actually no..I believe in a more pure playstyle. I don't like to completely strip the challenge out of the game because of my insecurities

How exactly do you twink in a game where gear and spells are level locked? Where you can only wear what Sony deems level appropriate armour at any step in the game? You can't equip anything before you're the right level, so...? Really, if with even the slightest application of time..doing quests and going through dungeons, anyone can have the best armor and spells at the lower levels, and I do mean ANYONE, how in God's name do people think its even possible to twink?

Twinking was an eq1 thing..it was giving high level armor that you could only get with a high level character...to low level alts. It was giving an alt gear that was not available to the average lowbie. It was removed from eq2.

The only people who complain about twinking are the ones that lack the ambition to do it themselves.

Try working for what you want instead of whining for a change.

How is someone who is just starting the game supposed to have full mastercrafted, all adept 3's, and a top-end mount at level 12? If having an alt ding 12 and immediately receiving that isn't "twinking", I don't know what is. And if that doesn't... consider the level requirements on many things- namely t5 fabled armor. Much of it is wearable at 40 or 42; it's certainly not *obtainable* at that level unless you're merely there as a hanger-on, however- in other words, being twinked by higher level players. Twinking is alive and well in EQ2. I'm not commenting on whether it's good or not, but to claim that it doesn't exist is just disingenuous.

Try working for it. A new player is not going to be able to log in and immediatly be able to compete with someone that has been playing for a year or more. Take out all gear and master 1's if you want, a new player will still get rolled by an experienced pvp'er. That will never change.

I still get confused about people that think they are going to log in and win a game as soon as the splash screen fades. Learn, earn money, get better, and eventaully you will be one of those good pvp players.

All of those things are available to anyone who plans on staying level 12 for awhile, they just have to work for them. Seriously it takes all of 15 minutes now days to level your alts crafting high enough to make a level 12 some mastercrafted. When we leveled our alts, we each took a craft and made for the others..and within an hour we were all decked out. It's not twinking, it's the way you are supposed to play the game and gain gear, it's called putting forth a tiny bit of effort. The Adept 3's at that level are a SINGLE POINT more damage than the Adept 1's. If you don't plan on staying level 12, it's not really a concern since anyone who's ever made an alt knows you can do levels 12-18 in about three hours.

The mounts require several thousand status, which is not something you get when you ding level 12. The top end mount could not be acquired by a level 12 unless they locked there for a very long time and pvp'd heavily.
