Hey, I started a wizard for a change of scenery from my shadowknight(lvl 36) and I'm having a really hard time now.. It was smooth sailing till now, lvl 15, when the fights turned into encounters.. I cannot for the life of me figure out how I am supposed to beat them? I have conflag master II but once thats used and it takes 50% of the 3 mobs HP.... what? I die, that's what. I don't know what I'm missing I am currently exp blocked because I want to do quests for achievement, but it seems I can't complete them, since they require me to kill those groups of 3-4.. I don't wanna grind and skip quests :S so any help? Also, while I'm here.. I seem to have some problem with my subjucation skill? It doesn't go up. It was lagging behind heavily ever since I got the arcane binds eventhough I use it just as much if not more than the attack spells. My attack spell skill/focus/def etc. all maxout within like 2-3 kills of lvling up, but subjucation is now 30 skillpoints behind. And I've tried chain-eh..chaining a mob, I cast it over 100 times(i counted) and it did not go up 1 single point. What's up? It's extremely annoying to have the skill lvl of a .. lvl 9 or something so that everyone and everything resists the root every time. Ok well, any help will be appreciated

You are talking about muti-member solo mob not Heroics (group) right? Usually focusing on your direct damage spells on one mob member at a time and casting your AOE fire spell when it's up takes care of everthing on blue and greens.

That being said I started a wizard over again from lvl 1-28ish just to see the low levels again and I have to say it is harder (even though I know what I'm doing now) to get past some solo mobs now than it used to. What I noted was gear and spell quality were irrelevant until say lvl 8, past there mobs started having serious resists if you didn't have that App IV or Adept I or Adept III. I was leveling so fast most of my gear slots were greyed out equipment (island gear at lvl 22 still occupied some slots sad to say) and it affected my ability to do stuff. Int gear at low level helped me out the most. As far as the skills I noticed that the "newly created" wizard I made seemed to have those skills go up slower than I remeber my 70, or maybe it its just all blurring over the past couple years and it is just slow. I personally had a hard time with the "new wizard" I made being "easy" even with treasured gear and Adept I's and App IV's. I'm very very glad I don't have to lvl up a 70 wiz solo now, its rough without some RL friends to help you out on a regular basis.

If you're in the market for AA I'd say hit 20, gear up at 20 go do everything in Greater Faydark, Antonica, CL, Darklight Woods, etc. Then hit 30 and go slap out everything in TS, Nek, etc.

1. Learn how to root and nuke. 2. Upgrade your gear. 3. Upgrade your spells to at least adept 1 for all your spells. Adept 3 if you can spend the money but you'll be out of the teens and 20's soon enough so save your cash. 4. Herioc encounters by design are supposed to be tackled by a group. Only experianced players should be able to know how to deal with them. 5. Don't solo so much. You'll benifit from learning from other players. If you get in a real good group it's way better than soloing any day.

For non heroic encounters this is what I do at. I throw Coldshield on myself, get at max range and start with the cold ae dot followed by the lightning flash and then conflag, at this point most blue encounters are dead or I may have to single nuke one down. Green encounters will often be dead from just the two dots before I can get conflag off. Both my dot spells are still apprentice I. Conflag is M2. I can't remember off the top of my head when you get the cold dot ae but its either high teens or early 20's. Until you get the cold ae just follow the other posters advice, but once you get the cold ae the encounters get much easier though I dont know for how long, it still works very well for me at 25.
