Every now and then I like to break up the routine of guild HQ events, raids, etc with a unique and fun activity that isn't a quest or activity normally within the game. Thought I'd post some of the events we've ran in the past, and see if anyone else had some fun ideas.

Note: These are ideas for events...not actual events I'm running for everyone to play. Do not try to claim the rewards listed.

Guild Gambling Night
Everyone shows up at the Nek Forest dock with 15g and not a copper more on you. We play as a guild and keep playing until we hit the jackpot or go broke trying. If or when one of us wins, we give a big guild woot in guild chat. The person that wins will then give one of the leaders present all the money won from the pot to be divided up amongst all participants as follows: 20% to guild bank 20% to winner 60% divided amongst remaining participating accounts For example, based on 200 plat jackpot, the distribution would be as follows... 30 plat to guild bank 30 plat to the winner 90 plat divided amongst remaining participants

Harvesting Extravaganza

Running this event to raise resources for guildies armor and complete HQ's... It's to help the guild, so as much help as possible is greatly appreciated. Event lasts for 2 hours.

Rules--- 1)You may enter late, but you will receive a 5 point penalty for being late. 2) You can turn in goods whenever you want, but you can only turn in items twice during the event. 3) All items are to be turned in before the end of the event. 4) You must collect from Feerrott only. Goal here is to get T5 rare pelts, ore, wood and teeth for guild armor and HQ's. 5) Prizes and placement: 1st - Legendary BP and Legs (T4 imbued leather, cloth, chain or plate) or 50gold, winner can choose 2nd - 40 gold 3rd - 30 gold 4th - 15 gold Point system: Rare of any kind from den, ore and roots - 15 points Each stack of 50 from any den, ore and root - 10 points Person with the most points at end of event wins 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Will be tallied immediately and announced as soon as event is over, winners need to be present to collect prize.

Collection Quest Challenge

It's time to get rewarded for all those collection quests you've started but not completed, as well as to be recognized (aka rewarded) for your diligence in completing the ones you have. Post on our forum your toons name and number of completed and discovered collection quests, as well as the total (you'll have to add the two together) for your chance to win. Post as many of your toons as you like. You can post them all in one post, or multiple posts. It doesn't matter, just have them posted before the deadline.

Here's an example of how your submission might look... Ripchi Completed = 10 Discovered = 1,000 Total = 1,010

The toon with the most completed collection quests wins 25 gold. The toon with the most incomplete collection quests (listed as discovered in your journal) wins 25 gold. The toon with the most collection quests total (completed and discovered) wins 25 gold. *Ties will be split between the tying toons. In addition, everyone who posts thier collection quests stats will be entered into a random drawing for a chance to win an additional prize of 25 gold. Entries for drawing will be done on a player basis, not a character basis. Posting 3 of your toons will only grant you one entry into the drawing. ***Special Note*** Being the guild that we are, this should go without saying... This contest is being done on the honor system. Please correctly report your collection quests stats. Also, please do not run out and buy a bunch of collection pieces to improve your stats. This is meant to be a contest of your stats at the time of the contest posting. ***Final Note*** All guild members are eligible to win, including myself. The only exception to this is with the drawing. I am not elgible for the random drawing. In addition, in the event that I tie with someone, I will forfeit my share of the winnings.

Scavenger Hunt

1st Place: 75 Gold 2nd Prize: Total of 48 hours of food/drink (any combination of food and or drink) 3rd Prize: Tailored Armor Random Drawing Prize: 25 Gold This scavenger hunt will primarily consist of collection quest pieces. To participate, just send your pieces to Insertnamehere. In the case of full mailboxes, you can either hold onto your submission and try again later, or send your submissions to the following toons: Joe Jack John Jacob (Please send to toons in that order. In other words, only send to John if you've already tried Joe, and then Jack, and both were full) Submitted items will not be returned, so please be sure you don't need/want the pieces you are sending. This non-return policy does NOT include uncommon and rare harvests, which will be returned at the END of the competition. Rules 1) You can find these pieces however you wish. Harvest them. Trade for them. Buy them. The only rule here is that you must have aquired them AFTER the contest began. If you have them stored in your bank, or on a mule, please do not use them. This will have to be on the honor system. Please play fair.

2) You don't need to send all your pieces at once. Feel free to send them at the end of each night, or multiple times a day, or store them up for the end if you wish. Send them as frequently or infrequently as you wish, just make sure they are in by the deadline. (I wouldn't recommend saving it all for the end, as mailboxes may be full, and I'd hate to see someone miss out because they couldn't get their pieces in before the deadline due to full mailboxes)

3) You can only turn in one of any collection piece. To make it easier for the participants, I will keep track of what they have submitted and send back any duplicates (this is the exception to the no return policy). Less tracking for you. 3a) The Shard and Bone collections actually have dual-quests. For those pieces you can send up to two of the same piece, and receive points for both pieces. You don't need to advise if it's for the shattered bone collection or for the barbarian bone collection (for example). I'll just mark it down and work it into whichever collection makes the most sense for what you turn in, trying to complete a collection. 4) Tracking will be done on an account level basis. Meaning if you send an item from one of your alts, and another from your main, it'll all be tallied together. This will save you the time of having to move the pieces to one toon to send them.

5) Each collection piece has been assigned a point value. In addition to the points for the individual items a bonus of 15 points will be awarded for each full collection quest submitted. Also, for tome collections, the collection will be considered complete for the purpose of this event if you turn in all tradeable pages. Points

Special Event Points To be eligible for special event points, the event must be logged in the guild events and you must also send me an email letting me know of your achievement. One is a single picture, with a reward. The other -detailed below- is for multiple pictures)

Checking your Norathian mail, you find a non-descript box addressed to you with no return address. Upon opening it you find a curious contraption. You notice various colored wires running between a lemon and a thick sheet of glass. You notice what appears to be a switch stuck in the back of the lemon. Looking around for any Fae pranksters and not seeing any, you flip the switch. You notice an image beginning to take form in the glass. As the image materializes you see it's a Erudite sitting behind a desk. You jump as a voice sounds from nowhere... We interrupt your adventuring for a brief breaking news report, brought to you by Current Norathian News. Good Evening. This is Ekaf Swen reporting for CNN. Earlier this week Lord Lucan was prepared to led a charge of Shadowknights in the destruction of a Fae preschool, after it was rumored one of the children drew an unflattering picture of him titled "Pukin' Lucan". Lucan had planned to lead the charge brandishing his legendary flaming sword, but the charge was aborted at the last minute. Although Lucan was "unavailable" for comment, witnesses say that apparently the fear inspiring flaming sword had been removed and replaced with a less terrifying weapon. One witness claims, "the display of spotted butterflies that burst forth from his sword was spectacular. I've never seen so many spotted butterflies! There were blue ones, purple ones, yellow ones...I think I even saw a couple green ones! It was so pretty!" Officials have intercepted an encrypted message that they believe to contain the location of where the sword can be found. The Overlords cryptology departments, comprised of Ogre necromancers, have had surprisingly little success in breaking the code. Fearing the result of further failure, Freeport officials are enlisting the help of all able-bodied Norathians to assist in solving the encrypted message.

Investigators have been able to determine that this picture contains 16 different pictures from around Norrath, and that another picture is imbedded within this picture. Experts speculate that the only way to view the hidden image is to correctly identify all 16 pictures. For the ease of identification, the pictures can be reference by number, going left to right, then top to bottom. For example, the picture in the top left corner is #1, and the picture in the bottom right corner is #16. It is believed that each picture represents a unique landmark in Norrath, but it's possible any location could be similar or identical to another, however only the correct A reward of 25 gold is being offered for each correct answer. However, each incorrect answer will reduce the reward by 5 gold. If the reward of any piece should reach a value of 5 gold, no further reductions will occur for that piece. The chief investigator has also approved an additional reward of 75 gold to the person who correctly identifies the most puzzle pieces, provided they solve a minimum of 4. Finally, one random piece of the puzzle is worth an additional reward of 25 gold. This reward will only be revealed when the correct answer is given. That's a total of up to 5 platinum being rewarded. Investigators have provided the following protocols citizens should follow when assisting with this investigation. · Hunches must be posted on our forum. Once posted on the forum, your hunch is pending review. · You are allowed to submit a hunch on only 1 location at a time. · You cannot submit a hunch for a location of a picture that has a hunch currently pending review. · Once posted, the Chief Investigator will review your hunch to determine it's validity. There is no set schedule for when the review will be completed, so be sure to check in. NOTE: I'd recommend letting guesses remain pending for at least a day, to prevent one person from running the board and to ensure all members get a chance to play. · If correct, your reward will be sent, and the case file will be updated with the correct location and rewarded amount. · If incorrect, the case file will be updated with the incorrect location, and the reward amount will be adjusted accordingly. · Once the review has been completed, you are free to submit your next hunch for any of the remaining pictures. The glass goes dark as the voice trails off, and you think to yourself how you are going to spend your reward money...

Note: If a week goes by with no guesses, advise that the Chief Investigator has approved the use of informants, and give a hint for each unguessed picture. Advise that informants don't come cheap, and that the reward for each unidentified picture is being lowered by 5 gold.

Once all pictures are identified, have another picture ready to be identified for an additional prize.
