I've been playing EQ2 since Dec 2K4, I haven't upgraded neither my PC nor ISP. I have 512k DSL, never had an issue. Last Friday I started experiencing continuous crashes to Character Select, sometimes they become periodic once they start (ie: Client crashed every 20 minutes during a Nizara run). Crashes happen anywhere, it started happening in Nizara but also happened in Fallen Gate when there were no more than eight persons in zone. I had a crash free MMIS raid then the issues resumed when we did Mayong Mistmoore. Next day I raided EH during seven hours without crashing, I took a break and did Poet's Palace, crashes resumed. Oddly enough I did it the previous day without crashing. I logged in today to get the connectivity information asked on the sticky thread and I crashed in West Freeport. I assume zone has nothing to do with it. During the crashes my online connection doesn't drop, I'm in ventrilo the whole time with zero lag. I have not added any kind of new anti virus / firewall / etc to my PC during the last 8 months so scratch that from the questions. My connectivity information is as follows: Windows IP Settings Host name. . . . . . . . . : Todesengel Main DNS suffix . . . . . . : Node type. . . . . . . . . . . : mixed Routing enabled. . . . . .: No Proxy WINS enabled. . . . . : No Local area connection Ethernet Adapter : Medium state. . . .: disconnected mediums Description. . . . . . . . . . . : ADMTek PCI 10/100 AN 983 Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-E8-19-35-3D Local area connection 2 Ethernet Adapter : Medium state. . . .: disconnected mediums Description. . . . . . . . . . . : Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-11-2F-94-85-9B Local area connection 4 Ethernet Adapter : DNS specific connection suffix : Description. . . . . . . . . . . : SpeedTouch(tm) USB ADSL RFC1483 Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0E-50-25-6A-BC DHCP enabled. . . . . . . . . : No Autosetup enabled. . . : Yes Autosetup IP Address : 169.254.195.210 Subnet mask . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Predetermined Gateway : Speedy PPP Adapter : DNS specific connection suffix : Description. . . . . . . . . . . : WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface Physical address. . . . . . . . . : 00-53-45-00-00-00 DHCP enabled. . . . . . . . . : No IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 190.49.116.65 Subnet mask . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255 Predetermined Gateway : 190.49.116.65 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . .: 200.51.212.7 200.51.211.7 TCPIP NetBios . . . . . . . : Disabled Cannot resolve destination name Lucan_DLere.everquest2.com. That's a file in spanish translated into english by myself so maybe one or two words don't match. I really don't think it's the connection causing this but any input or feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest that try disabling the firewall, and antivirus software if they are installed. Make sure you are not running any programs on your windows taskbar. If the problem persist you should try running your system under a clean boot as this will prevent any hidden programs from loading. To disable background programs: 1. Select the START button. 2. Select RUN. 3. Type in "msconfig" [without the "] 4. Press OK 5. Select the STARTUP tab. 6. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use WindowsXP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list. 7. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again. In case the issue still persists please post the connection related information along with the MSinfo from the system(having the issue) as specified on the link.
