After going back to WoW for BC and trying Vanguard I am back to EQ2 and stuck trying to pick a class. I would Like to play a support class so been messin around with the bards. But also considering a healer. Mostly I want to be able to never have trouble getting a group. When I left EQ2 I had a 39 Mystic and from what I remember healers were quite common and not always needed since another DPS was usualy more useful, or a support class.

So overall the decision is mostly between Healer and Support(buffer class) I enjoy both classes alot so its not a matter of playing what I find more fun, either one isn't fun if I cant get groups. So just based off your playing or what you read or w/e you base it on, what class do you see groups always wanting to find, or always wishing they could have gotten. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer as to who is more needed/useful/wanted in groups. And yes I do intend on grouping alot I prefer groups over solo anytime. Also please be class specific such as Dirge or Troub, if possible Thanks!

Welcome back to the game!

I also returned recently, and made a brand new character. I went with Templar because I've been on a healer kick lately, and I like being able to wear plate and swing a big hammer as well. This may vary from server to server, but on Guk I have not been able to get groups at the lower levels very often. I would plan on doing some soloing well into the mid 20's, after that it seems to be easier to get groups.

Later on, either support or healer will be welcome in groups. From what I've been reading, a good balance of healers/support classes is important, so either should work for you. Just pick the class you'll have more fun with.

They have the most power efficent heals and you'll shine in tough fights; you tend to handle longer fights better and easier then a Fury. And of course, you'll always find groups since you're a healer. I deleted mine because I played her before the KoS expansion and was too lazy to go back and mentor to get the missing AA, but I would have played to max level otherwise.

For support, coercers are a blast, have one at lvl 45. They're a challenging class and will keep you on your toes constantly, but they are also excellent soloers with the right pet and can be agony if the pet turns on you in the middle of a fight. They're always welcome in groups, since the rapid power regen you offer is never something to complain about. They can be frustrating though, especially at lower levels where everyone gets the impression they suck, which probably explains why there are so few of them.
