They never allowed transfers from pve to pvp and they never will. The only thing they opened up was pvp to pvp transfers and as far as I can tell even that was only for a very limited time.

Beagest wrote:
think they will allow transfers from PVE to PVP again ?
With any luck they will allow pve to pvp transfers like they eventually did on eq1. Like most pvp'ers, I have a few pve chars that are just rotting because I can't stand to play pve any more.

If they are on a EU server (splitpaw, runneye) like mine are deleting them doesnt open up new slots for pvp servers

I really cant see what probs it would cause if they came over naked with no coin.

If someone cant roll a "new" toon on the pvp servers in the first place, then they really dont want to pvp that bad and more than likely would'nt stay..

I think they should allow unlimited xfer from PVE to Venekor. Would get the population on that server jump-started. I would imagine Venekor would then challenge or surpass Nagafen as the most populated PVP server. My $.02.

This is one area where WoW has EQ2 beat. When you login to WoW, you can choose which server you want to play on. If the server is dead, no problem, just logout and go to another server. Why can't EQ2 do this?

Sounds a bit like my grandmother when she goes on about "young people nowadays...." The simple fact is that things change. When most of us started up. the servers were young. Everyone was a newbie back then. The servers are not young anymore, and leveling up to 70... soon 80, well... that's a long road, mate. Espesially when you have to deal with all those twinks too. Personally, I wouldn't care if someone on my server had leveled up on a blue server, as long as they were stripped for any fabled gear other than quested stuff before they arrived. If this happens, it is probably years down the road - if at all. I guess it would depend on how things develop.
I just wish people would stop posting threads about pve>pvp server transfers. I deleted all my pve toons to make way for pvp toons. Why the hell should the rules be changed after so many people have done the same? Just to rub it in the faces of those people who deleted pve toons?

SOE said there would NEVER be pve>pvp server transfers and gave what i thought more than adequte reasons why it would never happen. It was only those reassurances which made me delete toons i had played since eq2 launch.

Let sleeping dogs lie imo.

actually they said before and just after the original launch they "had no current plans" to add pvp into the game.

which the pvp contingent at the time on the forum nonplussedly went right on talking about pvp (of course)

the pve contingent on the forum just couldnt seem to handle these threads even existing and basicly collectively flipped completely out about people discussing things.....for the sake of discussing them...

and the community manager of the time (moorgard) basicly forbade all from discussing any pvp related notion upon the forums.

that when i took a long long break from posting (well, after launch and the char slot issue was over, bad flashbacks there)

i came back in early january (to the forums, um whatever year the pvp servers launched, lol) as soon as i heard there suddenly existed there a pvp devoted section.

I think everyone on Nagafen has a certain level of respect for each other(though it may be hard to notice at times) if for no other reason than we all know just how challenging it is to develop a new character in this environment. Even a twink has to earn his own AA's, and sometimes that can be a very frustrating experience.

To allow transfers from white boxes, would be incredibly insulting to those that cut their teeth the hard way. I doubt if I'd stick around.
