View Full Version : White Fault Lines Appearing Between Low-Res Textures

Hello! Posting here with a strange annoyance.  I've noticed in some zones (Qeynos, Steamfont, Butcherblock Mountains), there will be these wierd white "faults" that run along low-resolution textures.  For example, when running through steamfont, i'll look up at a far-off mountain (which hasn't loaded high-quality textures yet), and will see this really strange white line running through it, almost as though the mountain were being divided in half by this line.  I see it also in Qeynos harbor, walking around the corner from the dock to the arena, straight through that large building.  Though once again, when the high rez texture takes it's place, it goes away. What the heck is causing this? I'm running an NVidia GeForce 7900 GTX with 512 MB Memory.  Latest drivers, latest Direct X.  It's happened with all versions of Direct X 9.0c that i've tried with the game. Am I alone? Heh.  Thanks for the input.

If you're using an LCD display, try enabling v-sync forced ON in your nvidia's control panel properties.  This is likely a synchronization issue when you translate CRT refresh rate to LCD timings.  The typical side effect you would notice is random white lines along edges of textures (high-res or not) and random white 'dots' appearing even mid-texture in some-surfaces.

I don't think it's related to the monitor... this is totally rendering.  Just picture running through butcherblock, and up along that mountainside, you see a giant white aliasing line going through it.  As you get close, the high quality textures will load, and the white line will go poof.
