Come on work with us, characters look sweet in matching suits and I am sure most people will agree you want to look your best when you are bashing some ones face in. There are a coupe of suits but their stats are bleh, would be easier to just give us dyes. They had dyes in EQ1 and considering how far games and graphics have come I dont see what the hold up is.

Thanks

lol if they would put something like this in the game ...as a SK i would GLADLY trade the ability to dye my armor with my PT rofl. Can you guys imagine how hard it is to be a SK when your pvp armor is pink .....

I'm all for this idea, if there were some small restrictions. I.e. make it a small money sink, 25g to an npc to get each piece of gear done, that little nugget will prolly appeal to the devs as they <3 money sinks for the most part.

I think I also read somewhere a little bit ago that they were going to or had implemented the WoW style (prolly other games too but thats the only one I know for sure has it) dressing room or something similar at least. If you do bring dying in, I'd suggest allowing the player to preview what the dyed armor would look like after the fact so people don't burn a couple plat trying to find a sweet combo of colours they want and a colour applied to the base skin of the item will likely change the colour slightly, etc. Will also encourage a little more variety which is what most of the player base wants anyway and for those of that persuasion can also have guild colours applied to their armors for a more unified feel

Imo it, and I make the assumption -vastly- easier, is to give everyone a new shiny toy in the form of dyes than bother with trying to work the skins to match on fabled gear thats not sets, since you'd end up with plain looking crap anyway to account for the balance of people going 'Ooooh, this piece has +XXXX resist and this one has +XXXX stat!' and so on and so forth, you get the idea.

EDIT: Oh and for the love of all things holy, don't make eye-bleedingly bright fluro colours available please Bright pastels and livid colours are fine and definitely would be a shame to leave them out but if I have some ratonga or froglok leap out at in me in a combination of fluroscent green, pink and yellow armor I swear I will kick my dog. Hard.

Wait, why is this on the PvP forum?

Pretty sure I read very recently that they are not planning to put dyes in the game at all. They were though going to work on removing 'clown color' armor from the game (pink and green shadowknights ftl..)..and making sure existing sets matched better. This was in the most recent live online meeting thingies they usually put in the dev forum section.

One idea would be to let people use the chestpiece as a style setter on all pieces appearance.

Armor is fine like is it now :

- They're working on new characater skeleton, who is a FAR more important thing to do than put dye in game. - We have to be able to recognize armor when we see it. - Armor set is supposed to be an achievement.

Sadly, they're not planning to put in any dyes. I'm guessing maybe the problem is that it's gonna be difficult in regards to coding etc, and then there are those people screaming "no dyes pleeeeeease omg ogre clerics in pink plate omg omg! Nooooo!!!", which might have something to do with it too. Oh, and they also want each piece to be recognizable - which means you're all gonna have to get used to looking like mismatched clowns for as long as you play this game unless all your armor pieces are the same set. Except if you're a brawler with a gi, because that gi covers everything. Personally I fail to see why not everyone should be given the oppertunity to make all their armor match their chestpiece. Why not make it an option like those we already have, such as weither or not we want the cloak, hat or whatever to show? Oh well... Btw, this is the PvP forum.... try Look & Feel next time, mate.

i would like to see dye's in game with some restrictions also. perhaps just regular colors, no Hot pink or wacky colors. although i could see a Pally in Hot Pink. but i would rather not see it..

Just change the male armor color of any piece to never be pink. No need for dyes, just readjust the colors in the coding or graphics for the pieces in the next update to never be pink unless it is for fairies, they deserve to wear pink and purple and neons. problem solved, Note to devs never make armor pink again.
