Now, before you all run up in my thread shouting, 'EQ2 is supposed to have a more grimy and dark feel, shining swords for everybody would make it look like the Neon District in Tokyo', I would like to say -- I don't mean OTT particle effects. This is what I was expecting the first time I bought an imbued weapon. A a sharp blue pulse through my weapon of choice, letting me and everyone else know what I was carrying. I was expecting a yellow flash from my shield every 10 seconds when I knew it was imbued. I was pretty disappointed when these things did not happen. I'm quite the fan of shiny things, in decent quanities. When I saw 70's with bleeding red scythes that even has red dropping off of them, I was wondering, why do I have to be 70 to get this sort of thing? The only weapons I know of below T7 that do this are - The Ethereal Hammer from Nektropos Castle, The Prismatic Series of weapons, The Frostworn Aegis from the PvP Broker, And the orb from the PvP broker. Thats quite a shame in my opinion. And now, with the addition of adornments, I was even further disappointed to see when I added a flame proc to my weapon, I would have had to be a psychic to tell that from the outside. So what I propose is. Toggleable permenant particle effects, on all adorned weapons, and all imbued weapons. Discuss.

I think that that would just be verwhelming.

I always figured anything with particle effects should be somewhat rare and rather grand. So as to make you actually HAVE to be good in order to look good.

imho particle effects should be far rarer than they are right now, they should rather concentrate on making many new weapon models, most of the effects are by far too much, not beautiful by any means.

Things might have a particle effect when they trigger in combat.. but not when walking around, it always looks daft in most games, someone standing in the street with flame dripping from their sword, blue glow around their head etc.

I wish Velucidae's sword would show its effect while not in combat because its so cool looking. And the EH weapons dont glow but they have unique appearences....well a few of em

Personally I think the particle effects are really way way way over done in EQ2 with attacks.
