Any coercers who have used this end Wisdom-line ability think its worth taking? Or should I just put 8 points into dreamweavers trance. Can it be used while having your normal chamed mob? I'm aware its getting a little buff next patch but first glance it still seems kinda useless and gimped. Tried asking in-game but there are so few coercers out there it seems no one knows.

Yes you can charm 2 pets at the same time. I would like to try Charm + Hypnosis + Charm of ravasect Allure + Cazic thule god 10 min charm Imagine 4 charmed pets for dps .

If your fast enough you can charm an add send it after others it will hit em a few times then throw your stun then daze (cause it has a 1 second mez component afterwards).

using it atm, but it's junk. I like the Wis line for resists and focus/sub, but i'll be respecting and putting some points back into agi instead of Hypnosis.

Aye. I've spec'd to it twice now, once early on, and again when they made it cost 2 points. It's fun to play with, but worthless. Because it's Apprentice I, the mobs are able to resist it more easily than the Master I that most of us are used to. Also, the mob becomes as weak as one would be with the Apprentice I charm spell. So, for 16 seconds, you get virtually zero added DPS, and when that 16 seconds is over, the mob is going to have quite a bit of hate for you. The only real use for it in its current state is for single-pulling (when it's not resisted). Sure, it's fun to play with, and it's fun to hear people getting confused about you having 2 pets, and thinking it's a bug or something, but short of that, this skill is worthless. When they make it to where it will affect epics, I can only see one potentially good thing about it: If you're in the MT group, and assuming your MT can save you from when it breaks, it might be a pretty cool tool to try to help focus aggro on the MT when it starts going downhill. Hit the 2nd charm, 6 seconds later you've dumped 17% of the aggro from the charm to the tank. There are a lot of things that could happen as a result, and it seems like the confusion you inject may outweigh the benefits, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that some coercers have saved their raids from wiping with the 2nd charm, maybe coupled with memwipe. Doesn't sound like a great strategy to me though.

This charm has one very powerful use: to kill adds when soloing named. If some roamer aggroes during some long named fight, hypnotize the add and send it in for the named. The named will most often wipe the add before the charm ends. As an added benefit, hit the named with Magus/Auspex for some extra damage. It's another useful tool in our chest. I love playing the coercer. Yesterday (at 52) I took out a 48^^^ heroic named with two 46^^^ heroic (non-linked) adds, plus four 46 solo roamers that happened to pop or walk into my way, all in the same fight. And it wasn't even a tough fight.

Thanks for the replies...does seem useful for getting rid of adds...but convinced not to take it still sounds pretty weak and very situational, and even with charming epic mobs next patch...just having to deal with the probability of it eating me alive afterwards..ugh no thanks got the normal charmed mob already waiting to do that lol. 16 and 6 seconds is way too short as well wish they up it a bit at least.

I played with it a bit, maybe with some of the changes coming out I might try wisdom out again at some point.

In a raid its almost useless, but if you dont raid wisdom is a very useful line. I boosts your subj which affect a large portion of your spells including your charm, boosts your resists, gives you a nice skill that lets you slip by those tedious mobs that see inv.

But the question was on the final ability...best I can say is on how you use it and how lucky you get. With your boosted subj skill it wont get resisted as often as you think if you havent tried it, on the other hand in fast paced heavy damage group its not going to be very useful. If you solo alot you can find all kind of uses for this spell, but you have to be fast. If you like things to be a bit slower paced and relaxing this ability is completely useless to you except maybe as an additional Crowd Control spell to take a mob out of the encounter for a brief duration, its fast cast and no concentration requirements make it better for this purpose then your normal long casting charm.

In fighting an encounter seconds can make a huge difference, as can how many mobs you can get on your side, especially if those mobs can dish out some damage in a short period of time. A lot of mobs that used to have incredible DPS charmed have been balanced out over the past few months, but recast time on abilities like harm touch dont really matter if you are only gonna have the mob long enough for it to cast it and two mobs throwing out a hard hitting ability on one can be devasting even to a named encounter.

If you are almost dead, already have a pet, on the last mob of an encounter and need a second for stun recasts, a bit of health, or mana regen this ability will end the encounter for a couple ticks, a whole lot better then losing any rewards pending by yelling it off to save your pathetic life.

Really the wisdom line makes soloing MMC a ton easier with all the freakin resists in that zone.

For soloing I most definately have to give an AGI and WIS spec its due respect, it can cut down on deaths and dramatically speed things up and kill frustrations of resists and charm breaks.
