Hrm, I always read/heard brawlers being 'tauted and envisioned' as an avoidance tank, at least by those who have the power to dictate vision and set class abilities - the developers. I'm not really even sure what a 'dps tank' is. That's all neither here nor there.

I think the best place to keep these ideas going is in the thread in the 'in testing feedback' forum since it is the only one that we know gets perused by developers. I could agree with most of what you suggest above, but some of it seems a tad over-powered given the incoming to change to dual wielding (the double attack rate, for instance). In addition, I really doubt there will be another complete restructing of the trees this close to the publish getting pushed, so I think it would be more prudent to focus on a few relatively non-intrusive changes that would make certain AAs much more viable. My major complaint is that with empty slot restrictions, the str tree is useless for anyone who has high end legendary or better weapons. I would like to see the tree give reduced bonuses for anyone, then grant additional bonuses if people use it without any weapons equipped. Lanari posted about it in the test feedback thread, and I added a few of my ideas to the scheme. Here they are:

Strength 2: No weapon restrictions. Same ability.

Strength 3: Increase melee doubleattack by 4% per rank, and 12% per rank if primary and secondary slots are empty.

Strength 3: 1% riposted per rank; 1.5% per rank if primary and secondary slots are empty.

Strength 5: Chi loses negative chi effect and is on a ~5 min recast. No weapon restrictions.

AGI 3: Umm I think the devs are smart enough to know that 98% of all monk CA's are less than 30 seconds. The only damage art that is longer than 30 seconds is Dragonbreath. AGI 4: I agree, but since most monks have to spec to just DPS no one will take it anyway. Agreed...they should make the trees more entwined with what stat they represent. IE STR does DPS, AGI does avoidance, STA does Life and survivability, WIS does resists, heals, and curing, and INT does something with procs and spell damage. Would actually be pretty cool... INT 3: Sounds good INT 4: Not sure of the mechanics of Riposte, but to have that and the bonus to Riposte % would probably get a lil too overpowered...Then again, monks can't tank anyway, so you would only be riposting ae's...and can they even be riposted?
