I don't know how it is on a PVE server, but on PVP (Nagafen), the BoT groups are ruining the game.

I play odd hours, and groups are sometimes difficult to obtain, so I try to harvest resources, and solo as much as I am able. Just now, I was harvesting in EF (Everfrost), and there were two groups of BoTs, one Qeynos, and the other FP, sitting side by side, killing anyone that came near the solo instance in West Everfrost.

:sidenote: I don't mind dying. Dying is PVP. Welcome to PVP! I understand this, and I accept this fully.

When the FP group repeatedly kills me, and we are talking multiple times, and the Q group sits there and laughs at me while I"m dying, I become very aggravated. It almost feels like disruptive gameplay, or griefing, but how do you stop a BoT group? Sony will come back and say "they pay their money just the same as you do" and even if they receive no fame or anything from the kills, they continue. They also win when you get frustrated and leave. How is this acceptable? Are changes to this also coming in GU 36 perhaps?

My request is for Sony to please do something about the BoT farmers. Usually, I have some form of a solution when I register a complaint, but I"m seriously lacking in this regard right now. Perhaps the inability to attack someone you have recently killed, or that your group has recently killed, or some variation of this suggestion... I'm very frustrated with this particular situation, and hope help is on the way.

If anyone has any constructive suggestions or can offer any advice other than "Deal with it" or "Welcome to PVP", I'd truly enjoy hearing it.

I don't know what class you are but my solution has always been wipe them. Usally they are in crappy gear and are being multiboxed by less that capable players. Start with they're healer(usally a fury or warden) and move through the casters, it is likely the tank will get you before you are done. Rez and head back to finish off any you diddn't get the first time around. It is much more difficult for them to organize to head back out playing 6 toons than it is for you playing one.

When at all possible get a friend to help destroy them. They are worth infamy and tokens so it shouldn't be hard to find someone that will be willing to help.

Erm.....you do know that on a PvP server you can kill bot groups right? Sure you cant kill your own aligned bots, but you can go exile and kill all of them at once. The best thing about PvP servers is the ability to grief the bots

What a great post. Gives me a few ideas. Certain group setups should be flagged as PvP across ALL servers for everyone. You know the ones with that one plate tank, one druid, and 4 sorcerers and are all auto follow on the MT. At worst it'll upset a handful of groups and cause a few extra petitions/GM responses... but look on the bright side. Those evil botters arent going to petition... that would draw too much attention to them. So rather then die repeatedly over and over again and suffer the repair costs, they'll log out instead. Its brilliant. Its sorta like when you /duel that level one plat spammer on newb isle over and over again. Eventually, they just log.

That being said, this is ONE advantage I could see to being on a PvP server. Killing botters.

Wish you could kill bots/plat spammers on PvE

You're complaining about bot farmer groups on a PvP server?! At least you can do something about it -- kill them. On a PvE server, some zones like Obelisk of Lost Souls have been completely lost to bot farmer groups and there is nothing we (the "real" players) can do about it.

I hear you on Obelisk! On Splitpaw Obelisk is constantly farmed by the same 3 guys (The named eye especially), no matter how many petitions/reports they are there without fail. The zone is practically ignored by most now.

I'm sorry to hear that about PVE servers. Come to PVP, and we'll take care of the problem firsthand...

Turn the tables, it may cost you playtime, but it costs them money. As much as the idea of playing a freep curdles my stomach ... roll an SK, make his surname something like Slayerof'bots, and have at them.
