I rolled a new templar on a pvp server. Just level 12 at this point but as you know that opens the door for decent early level equipment, as well as Bestow of Vitae. I'm still learning to play this class on a pvp server, and I'm seeking advice on a specific pvp question. How do you finish them off? In one attack, a level 13 untitled brigand hit me. I let him hit me a few times to make sure he didn't have a pal, before engaging. After a few moments, I cast BoV, and began my attack. A few moments later I'm almost fully green with plenty of power and he's deep yellow, power running down... In the next attack, a level 12 slayer dirge hit me. Again I waited a moment before engaging. This time I got down into orange before casting BoV -- he was hitting hard, doing well. However, a few moments later I'm almost fully green and he's deep red... BOTH times the scout realized they couldn't win, stealthed and ran off. I chased but lost them. If I was a Fury or Warden I believe I would have got kills both times, due to Root. Please help me. I used to play a templar on the blackburrow server, a couple of years ago. I love the class, and love the fact they're relatively unique on the PVP servers. I love the keep-alive-ability of this toon so far. However not being able to finish the deal is frustrating. Any tips? Thanks! [edit: managed to spell question correctly this time]

You have one way (2-3 depending on AA spec) - forced humility line (your 7 second stun). That's pretty much the only trick you can use to stop someone running. The lack of "burst" dps gets remedied somewhat with Divine recovery (int line aa), or the ability to mez (agility line) and set up debuffs before you try and finish your target. But it's never going to be very good. But although you can win alot of fights, getting many kills = unlikley.

Forced Humility line doesnt kick in till about lvl 40 (think its 37) so thats not much good to you at level 12. I can't honnest think of much that will help you stopping a fleeing scout, maybe theres a Hex Doll with a slow componant on it(edit: you want shadow imbued hex doll, the agi 1), and make sure as soon as you hit level 20 you use the Sprit totem of the Butterfly so you can see stealthed opponants. The only other thing i can think of is to trust your ability to heal yourself and make them think they stand a chance, just cast small heals and do slow dps, maybe even turn and run for a bit, then when your low slap on the BoV and hit your nukes. If they think your gonna die first maybe theyll hang around a bit too long.

Itch, those are some good ideas regarding playstyle (ie, luring the frp into thinking I'm a scared, crappy healer). I didn't think I was missing anything, but wanted to be sure.
