Can someone please confirm this for me? My friend just bought the retail version of Echoes of Faydwer for $39.99 and it includes 3 expansions. I just downloaded the version from Sony Online Store for the same price yet mine only shows Echoes of Faydwer installed. I have read where the online downloads are one by one, but why was the price $39 still? Shouldn't it be WAY less since there is nothing physical manufactured (bandwidth does not equal the same amount)? Do I have to pay $100 for all 3 expansions if I download them versus his $39.99 that just got them all? I am trying to see where the logic is here. Thanks

Yes. If you purchase the boxed version you will get all 3 expansions (desert of flames, kingdom of sky, and echoes of faydwer)... and a house item to boot. If you purchase the digital version you get echoes of faydwer and that is it. Lame right? There actually is a logical reason behind it though. If SOE offered players the exact same thing for purchasing the digital version compared to the boxed version then absolutely no stores would put the boxes on the shelves. Putting boxes on the shelves is a very important aspect for marketing. It's really as simple as that.

Thanks. Maybe if RoK has an all in one retail box I'll get that. I'll just eat the single expansion I downloaded and still end up saving money on the others.

The devs have already stated that the RoK expansion when purchased through retail (not digital download) will contain the previous expansion packs.

Currently it works out cheaper to buy the retail version of EoF from Amazon USA ($37.99 with free shipping) than SoE digital download from Station Store ($39.99) and you get the other expansions and the house stuff

The other reason is because the price of the expaintion is 39.99, what SoE desided to do was if you accually went to the store and bought EoF, you would get FREE, the other retail expaintions. They did that instead of an in Box Bonus Iteam, like say a collectors coin, to make the box differant then the DD version, and it also says in the RoK FAQ that the Retail version will have all previous expaintions in it.

Now I have AA points that I can't stick in my druid tree because I don't have KoS, just DoF and EoF. Thanks, SOE.
