I just started playing, and, I'm trying to decide which pet class to go with.

So I have only played Illusionist so far (I've been playing for one day only). She is level 15 now, and, I was wondering if the illusionist pet is always an illusion of the character, or, if it ever changes into anything.

Also, I have two pet choices at level 15, which, have the same icon in my bar, and, seem to do the same thing. I am assuming that I should use the newest ones as I aquire them, and leave all old pet spells alone, would that be correct?

One last question I have is does my pet ever get spells I can tell him to use? Or, does he just do whatever spells he feels like? And, if the illusionist pet does not get any pet spells I can tell him to use, do one of the other classes like Conjurer or Coercer get to use their pet skills or get different pets with different kinds of attacks?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Illusionist pet is always a duplicate, unless you cast an illusion fun spell on your self, cast your pet and they will have same illusion, then cancel your spell, then you have you looking normal and your pet looking like the illusion. And a fun thing is if you get a mount of any kind you can wait to cast pet spell after you are mounted and they will be on a mount also.

Yes replace the spells as you gain levels and the quality of the spell i.e. aprentice 1-master 2 matters. Give the pet upgrades on all the spells it throws.

I am not aware of any way of directing the spells of any of the pet classes, maybe someone else knows. The conjurer get different types of pet spells, first is usuallly a fighter, then there is a fire mage, then a air scout, and a water healer. Coercer makes pets from the mob around so can have any kind of pet they can control. Nceromancer also has different pets with different abilities.

AS stated above there are 4 pet classes. Conjurer summons elementals, Necro has the usual skellies and what not, Illusionist makes a duplicate of its self, and Coercer charms mobs.

I rolled my first pet class just this week, a Coercer, and I'm really enjoying it. It can be a very challenging, on your toes kind of game play. No other pet class has to smack their pet into line every so often, or has their pet turn on them while fighting a named . Definitely adds another layer to my play, one that I'm really enjoying. The challenge is just sweet.

Plus, you can charm red con mobs. If the charm breaks, err, WHEN the charm breaks, you can be in trouble, but it sure is fun controlling mobs that are basically insta death to you and watching them lay waist to your green quest mobs Just keep your distance
