Hi, I'm completly new to the scoutclass. Played an sk until now.

With the new lu now here, I decided to be an Evil Arasai scout. I narrowed it down to two choices:

Dirge or Assassin. I just hit level 10 with both.

One thing that struck me, is that the Assassin is having a harder time soloing. Ok he does more damage at some piont, but the dirge gets powerfull bufs. The margin however for errors is small with the assassin. The dirge heals himself just a little....but it helps.

I was wondering if the solo part with assassins get better if they progress. As for now, i dont see myself dealing with more then one mob at the same time. I would like to know how dirges and assassins handle a non heroic mob that consist of two or more.

Thanks in advance.

you know they are both scouts, but really two different type of classes. Really the opposite.

The good news is that yes in time at 70 I can solo allot more easy then I did at lower levels.

The bad news is compared to most other classes assassins dont solo well.

Dirges are in demand for raids, cause of their buffs, but dont put on allot of damage on their own.

I pretty sure they solo better then assassins but I dont know allot on that.

Assassins are the exact oppoiste. They have very little buffs, but put out nice damage on their own.

Assassins are demanding to play compared to other classes, you have to really work for you dps.

why did you overlook brigand? They solo just awesome and put out great dps and are in demand for their massive de-buffs....and later down the road you could betray if you wanted to swashie, one of the most over powered class out there, they can do just about anything.

Sic is pretty much right on.. I just wanted to second his thoughts. While you "can" solo as an assassin.. you would be surprised at lvl 70, how hard a lvl 60^^^ fight can be solo lol.. If you want to solo often, I would pick a different scout unless you don't mind fighting fairly weak mobs. Also, it costs some money soloing as an Assassin (it costs money for other classes too.. just making a general statement on topic).. you will at least want some stun and healing poisons active normally.. you go through them fairly quickly while soloing. Assassin's can be alot of work to play.. but they sure are fun!
